Permission to Cry??

I have about five projects going on right now.  I was working on Nine in the Middle from Bonnie Hunter’s Adventures with Leaders & Enders: Make More Quilts in Less Time!
book…but it got set aside when I started working on the flying geese from my UFO #4.  The geese became my leader and ender….well they are finished and sewn together.  I pulled out the border pieces for Nine in the Middle and started working on them.

NineintheMiddle

Do you see what I did?!?!?!?!  I sewed the pieces together but I forgot to put the other piece on the border pieces.  The border pieces are supposed to turn into parallelograms…mine are not  parallelograms.  I’ve already started sewing them together.  UGH!!  Well it looks like I have a project to work on while I watch television…..unsewing….LOTS of it.  UGH!

I know….I know….I could just leave them as is.  But I don’t want to.  I want them to be parallelograms.  I like the look of parallelograms….so me and the seam ripper are going to be CLOSE friends.  Stop back tomorrow.  I’ll post the giveaway winners and I’ll have a new giveaway for you….

  1. Oh Jo! Girlfriend! Nothing more frustrating than thinking we are stitching right along with great progress to realize this! I feel for ya…really do….

  2. Oh what a bumber!! I hate it when I do things like that. I wish I could help you. Just put in a good show and before you know it it will be done. Is there any way you can only unpick part of the seam? Just go back far enought o add the corner piece. That might save some time. Good luck!

  3. That is so sad…kinda funny…only funny, because that is something I would do. You may need ice and a wrist guard after all of that ripping. Parrallelograms are much nicer in this pattern.

  4. That stinks – but I think you’ll be most pleased with the outcome and the borders done the way you see in the book. Don’t forget to put a strip of these in the car with you to. I’ve been known to unstitch while waiting at the drive thru at the bank and even while sitting in the automatic car wash. Just don’t get busy with hand work at a red light or there will be a 99.9% chance that you’ll not notice when the light turns green and then everyone will be laying on the horn at you. Ask me how I found that out. :P

Happy Weekend & Love from Texas! ~bonnie
