As many of you know, Kelli and I did a lot of quilts for Moda Bake Shop several years ago. Some of the things you likely don’t know is that Moda Bake Shop isn’t ran quite the way it used to run. The site has been reworked and can now be found through www.modafabrics.com. Well through all of this, Kelli and I have been overwhelmed by questions from interested parties wanting the patterns for specific quilts as some of the patterns have been “lost in the archives”. Well, to be honest, we are wanting to avoid all those emails and requests so we are going to be featuring one of our old Moda Bake Shop quilt or projects each week until all of them are posted here on our blog so we can readily find them and have access to them whenever we want. These quilts will be archived here on the blog in the free patterns section on the right column.

What a great quilt, Jo!! I will looking forward to trying this one SEW soon. Can’t wait to see more of this new series! Thanks for sharing with us.
I am so happy you are doing this shortly after Moda reworked their site I made a comment about how difficult I was finding it to find some of the older patterns and they felt it was inappropriate and removed my comment. I rarely go to it any longer but search elsewhere for my inspiration.
This is a great idea. I originally found your blog through a quilt pattern on Moda Bake Shop. The pattern called for a farm animal panel and a jelly roll and made 3 baby quilts. I had 3 very young grandchildren so it was perfect for me. I have been a blog follower of yours ever since that time.
I did find the site page one night by accident. It took me another afternoon of searching to find it again. I thought Moda did a dis-service to all the older “recipes” and their “cooks” by not making the site easier to find.
Thank you for sharing your pattern. I wondered what they did to their site .
I couldn’t find much of anything and couldn’t figure out what happened to it
Love this pattern.
Thank you for sharing such a lovely quilt with us. You are the quilter that just keeps giving, Jo. I have also enjoyed the many new ones that pop up in my recent magazines. I too have some difficulties with the Moda site. I once went to a lecture in OKC featuring Carrie Nelson. I loved her scribbles on the Moda site. However, her columns seem to have disappeared. Her ideas and insights to Moda and fabrics in the pipeline WERE the column, and it doesn’t seem worthwhile to read since she apparently has new duties that don’t include words on the Moda site very often.
Thank you so much for this. I used to love the moda bake shop. I rarely visit their site anymore. I read your blog & Bonnie Hunter’s every day.
Thank you for the great pattern. I’ve got some fat quarters I think this would work for. There are lots of projects ahead of it, but at least now I’ll know where to find it when I’m ready.
I had forgotten all about Moda Bakeshop. I remember when they “updated” their site and thought it was too much of a pain to bother with anymore. So I don’t. I do miss Carrie Nelson and the old Bakeshop.
Nice pattern. I will probably make a smaller version as a comfort quilt for one of the charities the quilt quilt supports. Is there a step missing for the background rectangles or did I just miss it? To add only a stripe strip for blocks on the bottom and left row/ column and just a color strip for the top row and right column?
I am glad I’m not the only one that is disgusted with the Bakeshop. Pictures are missing and it is impossible to find any patterns. Seems anyone doing “upgrades” whether it be forums or sites such as Bakeshop have done a disservice to the people that follow. Thanks, Jo. I, too, found your blog thru the Bakeshop. pam
Thank you, Jo! I commented that moda.com ruined their site when it was ‘reworked’. I have not purchased any Moda fabric since they dumped the Bakeshop site. Kinda like cutting off my nose to spite my face, but that is exactly how I feel. I will NOT support them any longer. Love you, your site, your family, and all things you discuss. Please keep sharing your heart.
Great idea, thank you!
