Scrumptious Butter Churn Free Pattern

If you are new to the blog, welcome.  You have reached an archived  free pattern.  We typically put up new blog post twice daily so there is always something new and fresh here.  Click HERE and see what’s new today…

It’s finally here…the free pattern.  Long ago we promised this….

We originally told you about the quilt here.  We made this with left over bonus triangles from this quilt, Sneaker Treads, that was featured in Quilty magazine.

Working with leftovers can sometimes create a challenge.  We had triangles that could match but we didn’t have enough left over fabric from the project to ensure that all the blocks would have matching center square.  That’s when I said to Kelli why don’t we make the backgrounds look scrappy??

..and so our blocks ended up looking like this.

It was fun.  When it came to sashing, I was at a loss.  We were out of matching fabric from the line so I dug and dug in my stash and found a yellow check.  There was no yellow in the line but it ended up looking pretty good.

We wrote the pattern so that you can start this quilt from scratch.  You can make scrappy backgrounds it you want or you can make all the same backgrounds.  You can do like we did and make the magazine quilt first and have the leftovers to create this project.

Enjoy the free pattern that you can find HERE and as always, if you make one and want to share, I’d love to feature it here on the blog.  Just send a picture via our Facebook Page or to my email, rogjok@iowatelecom.net.

You can find MANY other free patterns on our site by looking under the free patterns tab at the top of the page under our banner.  Stop by again…
