Ins and Outs: An New FREE Quilt Pattern

I told you about a month ago that we had a few projects featuring jelly rolls in the works.  So far we’ve shown you “Jimmy John” and last week’s free pattern “Meet in the Middle“.  Today we have another new quilt with free printable pattern that we’re calling “Ins and Outs”.

InsandOuts-2-1

When we made ours we used one jelly roll then pulled from our scrap bucket to provide the rest of the fabric.  The jelly roll that we started with was Blooming Fresh from Moda.  It was bright and fun, perfect for the look we were going for.

You can see why we named the quilt Ins and Outs.  The colored pieces go in and out.

InsandOuts-8

I quilted it with a pastel thread in an all over edge to edge design.  I love looking at all the fun printed white fabrics.

I found a backing piece in my stash.  It’s one I bought from the thrift store for $2.  I love it when that happens!!

This is a great pattern for you to use up scraps…LOTS of scraps.

There are so many options for this quilt.  I can see it with all dark back grounds and light columns.  I can see it as a Quilt of Valor.  I can see it as a two color quilt.  The options are really endless.

If you’re looking for the printable pattern, you can find that HERE.

Last week we featured a free pattern.  The weather wasn’t the best that day and I didn’t have many pictures of the quilt.  I took more pictures and added them to the old post.  Head on over HERE and check them out.

You can find MANY other free patterns on our site by looking under the free patterns tab at the top of the page under our banner.  Stop by again…

We’ll be hooking up with Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Crazy Mom Quilts, and Link a Finish Friday.

  1. Do you two quilty ladies EVER sleep?! You are too good to us out here in blogland–sharing such lovely free patterns, tips, and gorgeous photos! Thank you, thank you.

  2. Wow – yeah – this pattern would facilitate so many different styles depending on the fabrics – it’d be a great go-to for mens’ quilts, for sure.

  3. Jo,
I’m a little late to the table! But I clicked on the link for the printable for your Ins and Outs quilt. Has it disappeared for all time or is it still available? I make lots of children’s quilts for charities and Ins and Outs looks quick to piece. It is a very attractive, modern looking quilt.
Thank you for what you do.
