A “Humble” Quilt a Long

Friday I was reading blogs and saw that Lori over at Humble Quilts was requesting that all the people who had quilted a long with her Strawberry Fields quilt, post their quilt.  That’s when I went into a little panic…I knew my quilt wasn’t finished.  But worse yet, my sewing room is in such a messy state that I didn’t even know where I put the blocks!  After some organizing, and a couple hours of sewing, I quickly finished my Strawberry Fields Forever quilt.

It had been FOREVER since I machine quilted something on my regular sewing machine….it didn’t take long for me to remember why I like my Grand Quilter so much.  My shoulders hurt and I wasn’t even half finished with the machine quilting.  I SO admire all the quilters out there who machine quilt with their regular sewing machine.

I haven’t decided where this little quilt is going to go….mine will be hanging somewhere but I haven’t decided.  I keep waiting for the remodeling project to be finished and then I may do a little redecorating.

If you are looking for a pattern for this, head on over to Humble Quiltsand you will find it on Lori’s blog.  A while back she did a great little cheddar quilt a long that I wish I would have done….I might just have to go back and do it yet, but you know the adage….”so many quilts, so little time.”

  1. Like it alot…I’ve been over at Lori’s and wanted to make this one (it is on the list) but at the time just could’t find the time. It has been fun seeing everybody’s version of this mini cutie. I’m delighted that folks like Lori share these fun sew alongs.

  2. That’s a charmer of a doll quilt. Seeing everyone’s different take on the pattern has been fun. Mine is not yet a quilt but will be soon. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love the quilt and quilting. I just got back from vacation and couldnt wait to read your blogs. You inspire me to get started sewing and the heck with all this laundry. Glad to be back.

I had to laugh so hard, because I was in the same boat: tidying up the sewing room to find my blocks! :) But I will be handquilting mine for a little while longer… :)

  6. The red with the blues and pinks really do sing … perhaps a summer song. :-) This was such a fun quilt to make.
