It’s time for the big reveal for the all the “Joy Luck” Schnibble for the monthly Schnibble Parade. This month, I didn’t get very creative…..
I used Moda’s fabric line Verna just like designer Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company did. I added extra borders to mine so I can use it for a baby girl quilt. There is an extra narrow white border and an extra wider green border. My hubby who hates green said, “For green, that’s pretty good!” In my world, that’s a compliment! Typically his comment is “Cool”.
I pulled some pink fabric from my stash for the backing. I used a bright varigated thread for the back and just “free-handed” some leaves for the quilting design. I love how the brighter thread POPS and makes the plain back look more interesting.
Here’s a close up shot so you can see a little better.
For the binding I used a stripe from the fabric collection. I personally believe that every fabric designer should be required to include a stripe in their collection just so I can use it for the binding. I LOVE stripes for the binding!
I have now made ALL of the Schnibble of the Year patterns. This month I finished Winter White. In addition to the monthly patterns, also finished a large version of Lincoln. I made Short Story and I made Hot Cross as part of Charming Chatter’s Schnibble Times Two Constest. You can head on over there and vote for your favorite. (there’s prizes for voting!). It seems I just can’t get enough of Schnibbles.
Well…the July Schnibble is finished, I’ll be visiting A Quilting Life and Pink Pinchusion tomorrow to see the big parade of Joy Luck quilts and…I need to decide what I am making for August, a Short Story quilt or Plan C…large or small? Oh decisions, decisions!
I love the green border!!! What lovely quilting too!! Woo-Hoo!
I too love that green in the border!! Job well done that you got them all done!!
Your quilt is pretty. I love the green. The quilting is great too. I always love looking at the back of a quilt. Winona
