Ooops. I had some trouble and this post did not go live when it was scheduled to. Well, I’m showing it now!
Oh, happy day…more charity quilts from Ray!! Ray finished up some lovely quilts…
Ray writes:
“Just finished this adorable quilt from the Cresco ladies. They never cease to amaze me with their creations.
This one has a bit of everything in it from flowers to cowboys to tropical birds. Love it! They started with a 4 patch block and then added individual sashing for each block with its own special keystones.
I went with a stipple quilting motif and white thread so that the various fabrics could stay the focus of this vibrant quilt.
The backing is from Doreen C. in IA.
Thanks to you, the Cresco ladies, and Doreen for all the goodies to make this very special quilt.
Here is the next quilt from Ray…
“This top is from the fun-loving Cresco ladies. They were definitely having fun the day they made this top.
A simple 4 patch quilt will never be the same again. The wide assortment of fabric is awesome! What a fun quit that any kid would cherish for years to come.
I finally decided to use the balloon motif for the quilting to go with all the high-flying kites in the blocks.
I used white thread to get the balloons to show.
The backing is from Deb and Pat in FL and picks up on the purple strategically placed throughout the quilt.
Fun, fun, fun! Thanks to you, the Cresco ladies, Deb, and Pat for the ingredients to make this fun quilt.”
I am taking a moment to shout out Ray….this is the top when Ray sent it. It was a nice top. Through mailing, it gets wrinkled.
It takes a lot of time ironing, piecing a back, longarming, and binding the quilt. Ray also is so good about taking pictures of the tops as they come in, keeping track of who donated what, and then writing something up and emailing it to me.
When Ray and other longarmers here work their magic…lots is happening behind the scenes that they don’t get nearly enough credit for. THANKS to you all!!
The quilts are beautiful! I sure enjoy seeing the creativity of the Cresco ladies. They do such a super job. I really like the quilting that Ray did. Thanks to all who make these pieces of fabric come to life!
Shout out thanks to Ray and all the long-arm and other quilt finishers! It does take lots of detail time and work to finish tops that are quilts, ready to use. Many stitchers enjoy making the pieced tops but have nothing to do with the finishing. Good for you Jo reminding the community ALL the time and effort it takes to make a FINISHED QUILT!
The generosity of all these talented people is overwhelming! Thanks for sharing!
Admiration is what comes to mind when thinking about the whole process of this charity quilt endeavor.
Thanks to all who contribute in any way large or small. It all adds up !! My hat is off to all who take part.
