Schnibbles Times Two Entry

I joined the Charming Chatter’s Schnibbles Times Two Contest…..and here’s my entry.
HopeattheCrossline-full Quilters who joined the contest are required to make one of the quilts from Carrie Nelson’s new book, Schnibbles Times Two: Quilts from 5″ or 10″ Squares (That Patchwork Place) .
If you haven’t seen the book yet, it’s a good one.  There are LOTS of quilts in the book that I would like to make.

This is Hot Cross done in the new fabric line Collections for a  cause, Hope.  It is the small version that uses two charm packs.

This was a fun quilt to make and I am in love with the fabric.  It’s a nice collection of blues, reds, tans and browns. My only complaint about the fabric pack is that there are quite a few solid colored squares.  That made choosing the placement of the squares for the quilt a bit more challenging.  I ended up pulling out the red squares and cut them for the centers of the crosses so that each block has a red square.

As the fabric line is not available everywhere yet so I was worried about finding a fabric for the inner border, but a Moda marble fabric at the local fabric shop matched perfectly.

I was running behind so I quickly machine quilted it with a swirl.  The binding is a dark brown fabric.

The stripe makes a really interesting design when it’s cut and put into the blocks.  Check out the brown and the light blue blocks.

This quilt I am keeping.  It’s hanging in my sewing room.

You can go over to Charming Chatter and check out the quilts.  You can vote on your favorites….There are prizes being offered for the best quilt BUT more importantly, there are prizes for VOTERS too so head on over and vote for your favorite.

Check back later this week and you can see the other Schnibble quilt project I finished last week.

  1. Your quilt is so beautiful!! and I have charm pack envy from your last post still lingering. BUT, the important thing is I wish I had a my own blog already so I could go on an on about the prize package I received from you today that I won. OMG!!! The picture online did not do the quilt you’ve mostly finished justice. It’s so beautiful and I am so honored to finish it and continue on with the other season. Just wonderful!! The first thing I’m going to write about is this. Thank you once again.
