I was in the sewing room. My daughter Kelli was with me. We were looking for something. She was asking what I was working on. I jokingly said…Welcome to my divided attention.
Most of the time, people talk about UNdivided attention…not me. I have divided attention. I have very divided attention, especially when it comes to my sewing room.
This is what has my divided attention now…I’m working on four-patch John Deere quilt for a benefit.

I have these crazy quilt blocks that I picked up from Goodwill. I have 18 blocks…but would prefer 20 blocks. Hmm.

Here is Midnight Flight ready to be assembled.

I have my star block quilt here, and it needs attention. I put this together in December and then got completely sidetracked. I don’t know if it will fit on my machine or what I was doing. I need to revisit it.

I have my Ila quilt top that needs to go on the longarm…

I have my Twirl Around quilt that is starting to be assembled.

…and I have plans for my leftover star blocks.

Downstairs, I have two projects too. These are further out, and they are only being worked on if I don’t have anything I can do on the above projects.
I have…These half square triangles I am working on. These were gifted to me by a blog reader. I’ll just work on these little by little as time allows.

I am also working on these. They are leftovers from Midnight Flight. All the pieces are neutral and purple. I was thinking about making a Minnesota Vikings quilt with them. We’ll see. Do you have any ideas? The half-square triangles will be at 2″ unfinished.

For now I’m just getting them ironed and trimmed.
I also have a few wool pieces and cross stitch pieces that need to be finished.
So, that’s the things that have my DIVIDED attention. What project would you focus on??

I would get that star flimsy quilted and bound in the spurts of time your body allows.
Alongside for sitting/piecing I would focus on those log cabin blocks since you only need 2 (and have a plethora of strings), you’ll have a flimsy in a day!
There’s my nickels’ worth of input!
I agree with Elle. Any that can be quilted and finished, is good place to start. Then make the two blocks needed for the crazy blocks. It is good that you are so organized and know just where and what you have to work on.
I agree with the both of you, these are the closest to completion!
The Twirl around quilt! Hugs,
Fasted/closed to finish forward. NO starts till 1/2 of these are done! That doesn’t mean planning can’t continue, cross stitch in evenings/travel, etc, can’t continue as possible. Cross also closest to done forward. I’m also ” decided”, but try to keep group to 5 to 7 projects. Than pull next group. I’ve started renting time on longarm, local, have done 7 since January. 3 or 4 monthly over 2 days. I prefer free arm, not computer. Having a blast. Have had great feedback on the finished quilts. All will be gifted, ( if I can find someone who wants one, family doesn’t), rest for my collection. All are queen/king spreads size, my favorite size. Also sew 2 to 10 hours daily, 300 days a yr., baby to king, mostly tied for quick sale at farmer’s market, all summer. Tied makes affordable for anyone. I’m 81 in July, sewing since 4 yrs, 1st quilt at 9 yrs, & still have it. Sunbonnet Sue, all hand applique, embroidary, tied, with my Grandmother. Still making quilts & have WAY TOO MUCH FABRIC, most in self made “kit” form. Need to live to 150 to make a dent!!! Moratorium on buying except solids in 2nd yr. !!!!! Keep encouraging yourself & others , Jo.
Lol…start a new project!!
Way more projects than I could handle. Wouldn’t even know where to begin. You’ll figure it out as usual. Have fun!
Focus on the one that you are most excited about, the one that really grabs your attention and you just can’t wait to do the next step. If you don’t feel that way about any of the projects, then choose the one that’s the closest to completion. IMHO.
Your projects look so nice! Good luck choosing. Go with whatever grabs your divided attention at the moment!
Are a lot of the quilts from the same spiraled notebook and what is the name of the book.
Love your blog and praying for you.
If it were me, I would go with the one you really want to work on!! I find I accomplish more when it is something I want to work on in that moment. I had lots of tops ready and have finished 5 in the last couple of months. I have LOTS of projects on the go!! I have another Brick House to Quilt and another of yours from a magazine cut out. Thank you for your blog and wonderful quilts and cross stitch!
Good morning. I would focus on the ones closest to being finished. There is always a sense of accomplishment with a finished project.
I would focus on any that I could get through the long arm easily. But that’s just st me…you have to do you. Whatever is calling to you!
Jo, it was such a hoot to see my crazy blocks that I donated to GW on your blog. I enjoy seeing what you do with stuff that another person has run out of gas with or got caught up in a new project. Much luck with all your endeavors. Keep writing and enjoying life.
Were those ‘crazy blocks’ – Bonnie Hunter’s Crooked Courthouse Steps? I made that quilt and it was fun!
