Yard Sales

Hey…
It’s Yard Sale day!  It’s also wedding dress shopping day for my daughter Kayla.

Looking for some goodies or are you actually out at real life yard sales and not virtual ones?  About an hour from here along the Mississippi River they have the 100 mile garage sales.  People who live along the river all have yard sales…100 miles long worth of Yard Sales.  That sounds like an adventure.  Hubby and I have never been as he’s always working and in the field at this time of year.

There are more goodies over in my Etsy store to check out….. Magazines and quilt books galore most of them are just $3 each!  If you prefer to pay through personal check, drop me a note and I’ll try to make that happen.

oops..I almost forgot.  I have a box of 100 % cotton recycled shirt pieces.  $28 Here’s the link to see it.

If you’re looking for more goodies check out Bonnie Hunter’s Yard Sales.  There’s a linky party there with lots of sale goodies.

Wish me luck with the wedding dress shopping…I’m a newbie.  Any advice?

  1. Take a camera! Pictures to look at later helps to make the right decision. Try on lots of different styles even if you don’t think it’s the one.

  2. Definitely take a camera. Make sure you look at prices before trying on and loving it. The consultant is a wealth of information and actually had my DD try on a dress she wouldn’t have otherwise and it ended up being the one. It was stunning. Yes, definitely try on different styles. Most important. HAVE Fun!!! I have only 1 DD so I savored every moment.

  3. I was going to say take a camera too. If it were me, I would probably be crying (according to our daughter, I have been weeepy lately) and not even be able to see the different dresses. Enjoy and treasure this time together!

  5. Jo,
Where is the 100 mile yard sale? I live near the quad cities and have never heard of it but sure would like to go to it! Lol! My sisters and I attend the Spoon River Festival in Central Illinois each year and there are yard sales all along the 140? mile stretch but that is not until October.
