You might remember how happy I was during my week of radiation to have grabbed my stitching bag and for me to have things to stitch in it. I decided to restock the bag. Who knows when I’ll need to grab that bag as I head out the door again.
I had fun going through my wool stuff again…I debated on which projects to prep and came up with these…
I bought this heart pattern, and it was shown in Valentine’s Day colors. I had it in my mind to try to make them in patriotic colors. Oh my. I love them.
I wasn’t going to do a Valentine version now…but then I figured as long as the pattern is out why not?
Oh, these will be fun to stitch!!
Well…wool applique is a fun project, but the prepping is messy. That’s when I decided to prep a couple of other projects too. I did these snowmen.
I was so proud of myself. I was using the patterns I had just purchased…AND I was using them right away!!
Check out my last snowman…I made him decked out in Iowa Hawkeye Gear!! HA!!
I ended up making another one just like it as I might gift one. I just love it so much. I followed the pattern, only I used yellow for the wool hat and scarf. Then I cut out an “I” for the hat. They use French knots for the buttons on his belly, but I might see if I can find some mini buttons.
That was plenty to stitch and fill the bag with but then Carver, my grandson, came off the bus and said, “No fair Grandma. I want an Iowa State snowman.” HA!! What’s a Grandma to do but make one!! So I prepped one of them, too.
I’m so happy to have these in the bag and waiting for the next time I need a project on the go!! I think the patriotic hearts will be the first project I’ll tackle if I get some time in the near future to stitch them. Otherwise, if I don’t get to them until later in the year, it might be the snowmen. Who knows?? Right now, I haven’t had a lot of time for any crafts…It’s a danger of dating. HA!! As much as I like the handwork, I like dating even more, who knows when I’ll get to these. All I know is that they are prepped and ready to go.

What a fun project and those snowmen are super cute. I hope you do find some small buttons to add. Carver should get one, maybe as a tag on a present.
