Remember not to long ago Kelli and I went to a wood sign painting class?  If you missed it, here’s a link.  On of my childcare moms was hosting one so we decided to go again.  This time we got Kalissa to go with us.
Here’s Kalissa working on her sign. Â Kalissa is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to crafting…so much so that sometimes she doesn’t enjoy it as much as she could. Â She’ll admit that herself so I’m not telling any family secrets there. Â I sometimes think that the perfectionist in her is what prevents her from quilting or trying other hobbies. Â I’m sure some of you are that way too…I’m that way about hanging things on the wall of my house!!!
I was super happy that she gave this a try.
Here’s Kelli working on her project.
This event took place in St. Lucas. Â The family who bought this building made this awesome room. Â It is perfect for gathering. Â We had so much fun that we talked to her and suggested that other events like this get put together and held here. Â It was so nice to get out for the night!!
Here we are with our finished signs….I chose another personalized sign. Â I love personalized things. Â I figured I can buy an un-personalized sign anywhere. Â Why not personalize it and make it mine?
You might notice Kalissa’s sign that says, “Not all who wander are lost”. Â Well the fun thing about these classes is that you can make the signs to suit you. Â Look in the photo below. Â Someone else did the same sign but did it completely different…creamy background, blue letters with white accents.
These were done by girls who aren’t afraid of color like I am!!
This was really fun. Â I enjoyed getting around and seeing the projects that others were working on. Â Let’s face it, I enjoyed just getting out and having a girls night. Â Working from home is great but sometimes I need to get out and do something!!
This was fun…where I’m going to put my sign, I’m still not sure…maybe the living room…maybe the garage as people come in. Â Time will tell.
I truly would be happy if more classes for anything crafty were offered in our area. Â Getting out and doing something different was a real treat!!
What a wonderful class for all of you. I really like the idea of being able to make one that reflects ones self.
We have a shop close by that has big following.
I am totally shocked to hear that you are afraid of color! However did you get into quilting if you are afraid of color? I don’t notice a lack of color in your quilts AND you make Bonnie Hunter quilts filled with color!! Love your signs, especially Kalissa’s – it speaks to me!
That does look like a fun class to take with friends and family! Love the signs!!!
