What I’ve Been Watching

Rick has been picking some of the shows we’ve been watching lately. I really don’t care what I watch…I just don’t want to pick it. HA!!

Roadhouse was his pick. No, it isn’t the version with Patrick Swayze. This one had Jake Eyllenhall.

Here is an overview:
Road House (2024) reimagines the 1989 cult classic with Jake Gyllenhaal as an ex-UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer at a Florida Keys bar, only to face far more danger than expected. Mixing over-the-top fights, Florida quirks, and a playful yet violent tone, it offers energetic action and charismatic performances.

This was on Prime. We both liked this…if you like action shows, it’s not bad.

The next movie was “Is This Thing On?” It stars Bradley Cooper.

This was funny. It’s about a couple deciding if they still want to be married.

I watched this myself and very much loved it.

A series I watch on my own was Love Story.

This is the story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. It went from their adult lives before they met to the plane crash that killed them both.

I watched this via Hulu.

I didn’t know a lot about this story in advance. Yes, I knew who he was and knew they died in a plane crash but that’s about it. I found the story very interesting. I loved learning some inside information about the Kennedy family, although I would never have stalked them like many did.

I like this series a lot. I got a little impatient as I was watching the episodes as they were released.

Rick picked another movie, Ballerina from the World of John Wick

Here is an overview:
Ballerina follows Eve Macarro, a highly trained ballerina-assassin of the Ruska Roma, as she embarks on a ruthless mission of revenge in the John Wick universe. Set between Chapters 3 and 4, it blends dance-like combat with stylish gun-fu, featuring Ana de Armas in intense, stunt-heavy action alongside returning Wick characters. 

This was an action movie. It kept my attention. I haven’t watched any of the other John Wick shows, and Rick thinks it’s a tragedy, so I’ll probably be watching them in the future. HA!!

On my own, I might not pick this…with Rick, it’s a great movie. I hope that makes sense. I did like it, and Rick liked it too.

I don’t know how many movies I’ll be watching in the near future. We are spending so much time outside. ‘Tis the season!!
