Have you ever wondered what 1600 half square triangles would look like?? Â Well wonder no more.
This is so not typical me. Â I usually sew a few, iron a few, make a few blocks. Â This time around I stuck with it and sewed them all then ironed them all. Â It took about three hours just to iron them!! Â I thought I would never get done. Â I even did that all in one session.
Next up they all need to be sewn four in a row. Â When I did the cutting of the red for the units, I ran out of one shade of red and just picked a different shade. Â Then I ran out of that and picked another shade. Â I ended up using almost all of the solid red I had in the house.
I think the blocks for this quilt are going to turn out to be pretty fun. Â I can’t wait to get back to them.

That’s a lot of red HST’s! I’ll take a quilt made with just those please. :)
Wowzers! THAT IS IMPRESSIVE! Can’t wait to see what you are making with them!
Wow! Talk about marathon sewing! But I bet it’s nice to have them all done and ready to be put together :) Love all that wonderful red-and-white goodness!
All these half square triangles caught my eye over at Judy’s Design Wall Linky party and I just had to come over and find out more. Did you cut all these pieces by hand or did you use a cutting machine? I’m intrugied to see what the finished quilt will look like.
We had a couple of cooler days, and I took that opportunity to press a box or 3 of bonus triangles that have been accumulating. However I don;t know what I’m going to do w them yet. they are smaller 1.5″ unfinished!
