Sorry I’m late this morning with a blog post. I went to a play yesterday with Kayla and got back late. Writing a blog post completely skipped my brain.
I wrote on Saturday about my sewing afternoon with Kelli and the kids. It was so fun. If you missed that, you can read about it HERE. We were making a John Deere quilt for Eli, and he was busy helping us.

I continued to work on it.

Kelli had brought the machine downstairs, and when the night was over, I told Kelli to just leave it here. It’s hot and humid here… and the sewing room doesn’t get that cool even with air conditioning, so as long as it was downstairs, I opted to keep it here. I could sew downstairs for a week until the humidity finally calmed down. This is how far I got. Kelli wondered if she might want it bigger. She’s coming later today and we’ll decide.

Rick and I helped a friend this week. We had to drive to Waterloo and then back to New Hampton to do it. I threw in my English Paper Piecing and got a few segments sewn together.

After I worked on my English Paper Piecing when we went on vacation, it just kind of stuck. I’m back in the mood to do it, so I’m going with it.
Last week I told you I loaded a quilt on the longarm. I started working on that too.

I ended up working on it during two different sessions. I finished it!! YAHOO! Now I need to bind it. My goal is to do that this week.
In between, I’ve been sneaking upstairs for a bit most days. I’ve been trying to clean a little in the sewing room. I keep telling myself if I take 20 minutes every day, then I won’t have a huge bunch to do once I tackle that.
I really cranked out a lot of stuff over the week…some thanks to Kelli and the kids.

It’s amazing how much can be accomplished with 20 minutes. I would go up into the attic every day for 20 to 30 minutes after my husband’s heart surgery. I was able to organize and purge SO MUCH in those small chunks of time!
I love the quilt that you have on your longarm. It is so cheerful. The quilt you are making for Eli’s big boy bed is pretty too. He will love it. Now onward to Emmett’s quilt. I’m sure you will get help with that one too.
It is amazing how much you can accomplish in bits and pieces. Small amounts of time add up to big accomplishments. And helpers are always welcome. Great work this week!
Love the quit on the long arm!
Isn’t it great to have the kid sew with you? I used to do it when the grands were younger. Such good memories!
Eli will love his quilt.
Love and prayers
Eli has to be a John Deere fan! Lots of green and yellow in his quilt and it is looking so good. I’m sure Emmett will pick our super colors for his quilt too. Your EPP project is looking good. I’m looking forward to seeing the layout when you get farther along.
Always my favorite post of the week! Just wondering, are you posting just once a day now? Hope you’re feeling okay.
It was Labor Day and I had family here. Only one post yesterday. Otherwise it will be Monday through Friday two posts and the weekend just one on Saturday and Sunday.
Encouraging to read you are doing the twenty minute intervals/ It is my confirmation that it really is worthwhile and will be accomplishing some things. At times it does not show that much progress is happening so a bit of encouragement is needed. THANK YOU
Bravo all around!
My quilt club is working on a red, white, and blue quilt this year and our latest block left bonus triangles. Because of your inspiration, I am saving them for a leaders and enders project.
MISS YOU!? naw I’m just glad there is something in my inbox.
