Thanksgiving was a little stressful for me this year. By the time I woke on Friday morning, I knew that not a lot of work, or much house work was going to happen. I needed a therapy sewing day….and I took it!!
Although I didn’t have the quarter square triangles done for clue #1, I dived into clue #2. I needed some sewing that wasn’t a drop stressful and the navy string blocks for clue #2 were just what I needed. I ended up making 95 blocks. I am thinking that I may make the quilt bigger so having 95 might be okay. By early afternoon, I had them all done except for taking the paper off the back.
Friday afternoon, I finished up the quarter square triangles too. I ended up squaring mine up…
I had sewn the blocks of two different sewing machines and I don’t think I have the quarter inch seam down pat on the Singer. Before I sew on it again, I am going to take the time to check the quarter inch seam…live and learn.
Saturday we went to visit hubby’s mom and I took my string blocks with….
During the 90 minute car trip, I ripped the paper off the backs. It was the perfect car trip project. I had two bags, one for blocks and one for garbage. It took most of the trip to complete the project.
It is nice to be caught up. I spent Sunday sewing on my next Moda Bake Shop project. It’s definitely different from projects I typically sew…but it’s growing on me and our daughter Kalissa loves it…. I am hoping it will be featured in a couple weeks so you can tell me what you think of it then.
