I had a busy week…grandkids, ball games, helping a friend, and some behind-the-scenes things that I’ll tell you about later. I did manage to sneak in the sewing room and get a few things done.
I trimmed my Bow Tie quilt, so now I can add the borders. I was going to do that, but then the Fever game was on. I needed something I didn’t need to think as much about or draw my attention away from the television.

So I picked my Midnight Flight quilt. I’m piecing the blocks. I like to put the pieces in stacks and lay them out according to how they go in the block.

These blocks have LOTS of twists and turns to it’s easy to mix or turn the pieces…proof is this block. UGH.

I ripped it out and fixed it.
That’s the only sewing I got done this week. It was another jam-packed week. I think I have one more week of crazy, and then things should slow down after the 4th of July. WHEW. I am so looking forward to that. June has been a crazy whirlwind for me.
I had two blog readers send quilts to me. This one is from Rebecca. It is machine-quilted and only needs a binding. It’s so pretty. I love the color choices that were made. I laid the quilt down to take a picture, and Rosie was immediately on it.

The other quilt top was sent my Julie. Oh my word…look at the work she put into it. The hand embroidery is outstanding.

Here is a close up of the embroidery.

WOW…Simply wonderful. I just love embroidery. If I have more time in my life, embroidery, wool applique, and punch needle would happen more in my life.
Thanks so much for the quilt tops, ladies. I can’t wait to completely finish them.

Both quilts are beautiful but the hand embroidered is awesome. How grand that these are so lovingly donated and not only provide warmth but give joy to the one receiving the gift. What a blessing each one will be!!!
These two quilts are beautiful. The embroidery is amazing and the colors in the first quilt are gorgeous!
I think sometimes all we do is sew and rip. But the end product is so worth it!
Love and prayers
Those two quilts are gorgeous – and the embroidery is just WOW!
I hope you do get a chance to slow down a bit – I have the same issue and hope life gets a bit slower next month. Meanwhile, it would be great if things would quit breaking around here… LOL!
Your quilts are wonderful and I look forward to seeing them finished.
Jo we look so eager for summer to start but boy does it keep us busy. We just spent a week with our kids in Cook, MN. The grass and weeds didn’t wait for us. They just kept growing. I did get a top sewn together during the week.
The quilt tops a beautiful, such generous quilters. Thanks for the Blog Jo.
I like your bow-tie quilt and happy that it is almost finished. I particularly like it with the setting blocks and the being on point. The Midnight Flight quilt will be very pretty when you finish it also. All of your quilts are always winners! Oh, isn’t about time for an Anders quilt for preschool?
It is about time. It’s on my list.
I love both quilts! Hugs,
