I did not get much time in the sewing room this week. I got up there several days, but a couple of them were for scooting out for things to put on the garage sale. I told you that few things were sacred when it comes to the garage sale. I did get up there one day, and this is what I got done…
I really should have worked on the longarm, but didn’t. The Midnight Flight quilt called to me. I have deadlines I need to be chasing…I have a benefit quilt and a quilt for Anders for preschool, but I picked something with no deadline. That was plain silly. I’m kind of kicking myself about that now.
But Midnight Flight won out.

There are so many pieces in these blocks.

I ended up with some finished blocks…

These all need to be ironed. Then they need to be sewn together into the bigger blocks.
I managed to get two rows of block sewn together and added to the mother ship.

Gosh. Isn’t it starting to look really good?
In the process of digging through the sewing room to see if there was anything I might want to put on the garage sale, I found these!!

These are the wool applique pieces I worked on while I was getting radiation in March. I had lost them and had repeatedly looked for them. WHEW. I was sure they were gone.
So now I can add them to my list of things to do. I’m so glad I found them.
I don’t expect much sewing time this week. I have a doctor’s appointment for my foot. We have grandkids on Tuesday. Thursday, Rick has surgery, and starting Thursday afternoon, we have the garage sale through Saturday morning. Then Nell is coming along with Kelli and Kayla to stitch for a couple of days. Oh my. What a busy week!! Fingers crossed I can sneak into the sewing room for a couple of hours. Who knows?? ‘Tis the season.

Midnight flight is a great finish, and it sounds like a very busy week ahead. Wishing Rick a great outcome with his surgery and that you have a successful garage sale.
Midnight Flight is coming along beautifully!
Good luck with your doctor’s appointment and your garage sale. I’ve always enjoyed a good garage sale, even though bringing everything out is hard and the early birds – good grief! LOL!
Midnight Flight is so pretty. The colors just pop. Good luck with the garage sale. I had one about 20 years ago. I said never again. I don’t like the haggling and the leftovers. Ugh!! In fact, as I’m cleaning in my garage, I am finding some of those leftovers. They even have my price stickers on them and they survived the move to a new home. Imagine that! I’m praying that Rick has a successful surgery outcome.
Some days you just need to sew something you don’t have think too much about. Give yourself grace. You have a lot going on. I’m sure after the garage sale you will have the energy to work on your deadlines.
Oh how you are progressing with Midnight Flight. I certainly can see why it was calling you! It is a beautiful quilt. I am anxious to see what you come up for Anders quilt. Oh btw maybe it is time to update your ironing board cover!! lol
