Since my hubby has been in the field farming my days have fallen into a bit of a routine….during the week I do the chores, housework and work on my jobs.  In the evenings I sew on projects that are mine or things I am doing for upcoming publications.  He’s been leaving at 5 am and coming home at 10 pm.  It’s long lonely days for me.  It’s great to have sewing projects to work on but I would much rather have him to hang out with.  Then on the weekend our daughter Kelli  and I play farm wife widows and sew on our Perkiomen Daydreams quilts…they are coming along nicely…but that’s another post.
On my list of things to do this week are to make backing for my Jamestown Landing quilt.
This is a pile of mis-mash that is going to turn into the backing. Â I figured it can’t be a true Bonnie Hunter quilt if it doesn’t have a pieced backing right?!?!? Â I know for certain that I am keeping this quilt so I am doing it my way.
I am  hoping to get a backing put together for my Pineapple Blossoms quilt too.  This backing is going to be pieced to but only with two different fabrics.  This is probably going to be a donation quilt.  I love it but I can only keep so many quilts and right now, I like Jamestown Landing better.
I am hoping to get another finished quilt this week…it’s a busy week so that’s a stretch but we’ll just have to see. Â It’s so nice to be getting a few things used up and finished up.
I have a box of Moda fabric waiting to be cooked up into a project….hopefully I’ll be able to cut into that this week too. Â I can already tell you that the list won’t all be completed…but a quilter can dream, RIGHT??
To see what everyone else is up to, check out Design Wall at Patchwork Times. Â Be sure to check out the great Crumb Along Progress here…
i really enjoy your site and love to see and hear about the quilts you are working on.
Throughly enjoy your blog – I’ve completed 2 of Bonnie quilts – Pineapple Blossom and Bricks and Stepping Stones. I am currently sewing on a Christmas Lights. No sewing now till after this weekend – daughter’s wedding (she invaded the sewing room/spare bedroom). Robert, from northern Iowa.
Lovely Jamestown Landing. So far, all I’ve done towards making one is sort out a small pile of blue scraps from a scrap tub. Have a bunch of scraps in a copy paper box to go through too.
Jo-you are such an inspiration. You know I just love all of your quilts..they are beautiful. I’m hoping I’ll get back to sewing after knee replacement surgery 5 weeks ago-it’s been a long, hard battle, but hopefully I’m more than half way thru.
These are so pretty.
Both of the quilts are lovely!! I really like the pineapple, you’ve done a beatiful job!
Hi,
We spotted your Jamestown Landing quilt and would love you to send a photo and letter for Readers’ Showcase when it’s finished – no hurry of course!
