What I’m Working On…

Things here are little crazy.  Like everyone else I am doing the typical holiday hustle and bustle but beyond that, we are getting ready to host a graduation open house for my daughter Kalissa who graduating from high school at semester which is at the end of the month.  I should be cleaning but decided it’s really too early to be worrying too much about cleaning yet so I am sewing…crazily sewing to make up for the time I won’t be able to at the end of the month.

I didn’t feel the best on Saturday but today I felt really good so I spent some time organizing things yesterday.

Here is Pineapple Crazy from Bonnie Hunter’s book, String Fling: Scrappy, Happy and Loving It!.  My space is all cleaned up and ready for action.  I got new papers cut too.  Working with those little pieces can sometimes be REALLY messy.

I started a UFO.  This is Criss Cross Applesauce from Bonnie Hunter’s book, Scraps & Shirttails II: Continuing the Art of Quilting Green.  I had this cut out but not a stitch sewn.  It’s sat for over a year!!

I continued working on Perkiomen Daydreams from Bonnie Hunter’s book, Scraps & Shirttails: Reuse, Re-pupose, Recycle! The Art of “Quilting Green”.  We are on row #12!!

This is Bonnie Hunter’s mystery Easy Street.  I am not quite done with clue #3.

…but that didn’t stop me from cutting out another.  UGH.  What was I thinking??? This one is going to be dark colored neutrals, cheddar, brown, rust and green.  I have the pieces all cut out.

My birthday is on Friday and Kelli took sometime off work.  We are planning on sewing on Thursday and Friday.  I can’t wait!!

To see what others are  working on check out Patchwork Times….and to see other Easy Street progress check out Bonnie’s linky party…Oh, I have a giveaway going on too.  You can find that here.

  1. i love your color choices on both the mystery quilts! I’ve gotten my step 3’s cut out but they had to wait for this week for the sewing, so i’ll be at my machine this week too.

  2. How wonderful that you are taking some time to sew, it is so therapeutic for holiday stress! Your choices for Easy street look like fun quilts. I always roll my eyes at the committment of time you allow for Perkioman Dreams; more power to you! Lastly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

  3. You have your hands full and I know you love it! Love your color choices. Happy Sewing! And Happy Birthday on Friday. How nice of Kelli to spend the day with you sewing. What a girl!

  5. So, could you be considered a Bonnie Hunter fanatic? And I would say you really like working with little pieces. Think I will go take a nap: all that you are doing made me really tired. :-)

  6. I believe it was through your blog last year that I first heard about Bonnie Hunter. Am I ever glad I did! I love the scrappiness of the quilts she creates. Yours are going to be beautiful! Having so much fun with this mystery quilt.
