What I’m Working On…

Over the weekend a final serge of power sewing took place and we put the last stitches in Kayla and Spencer’s wedding quilt.

Here it is all ready to be ironed.  As I was snapping a couple pictures, Ruby came over and started sniffing the quilt.

I figured it’s time she learn to pose on a quilt.  Let’s just say this was the best picture…I was rolling around laughing at her it was so funny trying to get her to pose.

Then I put the camera away, went to answer the phone.  When I got back she was posed so sweetly that I snapped another picture.  I took the camera and went to write a blog post with the pictures I had.  Then I went back and started to iron the quilt.  I ironed the first row of blocks.  Then I went to move the quilt but it was stuck….there in the folds of the quilts was…RUBY!  She was all snuggled in.  I moved the quilt top around enough so I could take another picture of Ruby sleeping in Kayla’s wedding quilt top.

On my agenda this week is to get this quilted..that means I need a backing and some binding AND Miss Ruby needs to quit being so cute that she distracts me from what I should be doing.

  1. Love, love, love how this is coming out. It is going to be a wonderful gift.
I like how the colors in the quilt match Ruby’s coloring too!

  2. Your quilt you made for the kids is absolutely beautiful – and of course you have the added bonus of having a superb model to show how comfy and cozy the quilt is!

  3. It doesn’t get much better than a gorgeous scrap quilt and a precious puppy does it? I’m thinking you had better not hold your breath on Ruby not being cute – I think you’re doomed! :)

  4. Oh, isn’t that just the sweetest thing!!! And I really like the quilt too. :) You will have to include these pictures with the quilt when you give it to the kids. Ruby is proving a worthy successor to Gracie.

  5. I enjoyed this post. I see you have some Jo Morton fabric in the quilt. Love to work with her fabric. Ruby is just too stinkin’ cute.

  6. Love the quilt — it will be a wonderful quilt. What size is the square in the center of the star. You got some cute pictures of Ruby.

  7. That last picture is the sweetest thing I have seen all year; truly.
And the quilt is just beautiful.Wonderful work, Jo. Congratulations once again.

  8. Don’t know which is cuter, the dog or the quilt. What is this pattern that she flatters so well with that face?
