What I’m Working On…

Thanks to time in the car and school starting, I did manage to get something done to share with you. On the way to Ohio, and on the way home, I took a little time and worked on my English Paper Piecing.

I had the flower done earlier. I spent time working on the points for it to make it into a star.

Before I started working on the points, I made lots and lots of black hexies for outside the stars.

I’ve resigned myself to likely never finishing this quilt…I know when I’m gone, Kelli will finish it though. So, I keep on working on it. There will be less for her to do. In the meantime, I’m having fun with it.

If you remember, I left for vacation with Anders’ preschool quilt hanging over my head. Kelli had helped me get the top together…but the rest was all on me!!

Tuesday, after vacation was a bust. There was not time to do it then. I didn’t mention this earlier but I take levothyroxin being I don’t have a thyroid anymore. My bottle of pills was stolen from the hotel room. So we had to get me more meds…plus the flowers and the lawn and laundry…you know how it is when coming back from vacation. There is always so much to catch up on…so no longarming that day.

Wednesday Rick had an appointment in Waterloo. I went with him. While we coming home, Kalissa messaged me and said, “Hey, we’ll be by on Thursday to pick up Anders’ quilt.” ***t.

So immediately when we got home on Wednesday I told Rick I wasn’t coming down stairs until I was finished with Anders’ quilt.

Luckily it is small and didn’t take too long.

I bound it immediately.

Whew…it got done!!

I had a big weight lifted. I had though I had until today to get it done. I didn’t know he had to take it to open house with him!!

I’ll share pictures of Anders’ getting his quilt in an upcoming post.

While I was binding the quilt, I was looking at my sewing room. Oh my. It sure does need a cleaning and organizing. It’s a mess…I really don’t even know what I’m working on!! I’ve finished a few things and need a good reset. I’m hoping I get one this week…but already, it’s stacking up to be a busy week!!

  1. Cute quilt for Anders. I bet you will get more hexies done than you think as much as Rick likes to travel. Sorry to hear about your stolen meds. Whoever stole it is in for a big surprise when they take it. Getting the replaced is a hassle with insurance.

I’m so happy for you for your relationship with Rick. It’s great to see you smiling ear-to-ear.

  2. Love, love Anders’ quilt!! I’m sure he loves it. Can’t wait to see his reaction. Hate to hear about your stolen meds. How sad that people steal drugs, but not surprising these days. I hope you reported it to management. They need to know those things. And I’ve heard (in my area) to get meds replaced one has to file a police report. Hope you got them replaced okay. And hopefully the thief didn’t steal anything else.

  3. I take levothyroxin too. That was really stupid of someone to steal it. It comes in different dosages so I wouldn’t think it would be any good to someone else. They have increased my dosage so many times. A friend was in the playing around with dosages stage too and passed out going to her mailbox and went flat on her face. I am glad that you and Rick enjoyed your vacation.

  4. I absolutely love Anders’s quilt! The colors are so soothing and makes me relax just looking at it. I’m sure he will love it!

I take Levothroxine too. They must not know what that is for. Sad how things are today.

    Sounds like a wonderful trip!

  5. Love your quit for Anders – I know he’ll love it too!
I was sorry to hear about your stolen medicine. I hope it wasn’t too hard on you to replace it. Did you report it?
Glad you enjoyed your time away with Rick and his family.
    Love and prayers

  6. Love Anders quilt! Jo, I’m just so happy for you and Rick and that you had a great trip. Rick is a great guy. Glad you kept your options open and found him.

  7. I am so glad you are working on your EPP project again. I was inspired by your posts several years ago and I have been working on it as well. I hope to someday share a picture of my completed top with you.

  8. The quilt is super! So glad you were able to finish it so quickly. It is always fun to travel, but you are right, there’s work to do when you get home. I’m looking forward to seeing your next quilting project finish.
