What I’m Working On…

I didn’t get much sewing time this week. I had company over the weekend. I had Doctor appointments…I went to a movie one night. It just didn’t work out to get much time in the sewing room. I still got some sewing done though.

I am still working on the pieces for my Midnight Flight quilt. I almost have them all finished and ready to be sewn into blocks. Here are the last ones I ran through the machine. Once they are trimmed and ironed, it will be block-making time. YAHOO!!

I actually spent quite a bit on time on that over the week. Several early morning sewing sessions made that happen.

I bound my Train Tracks quilt. I need to get some pictures taken, then get a block post written about it.

I got my blocks trimmed and more sewn for my Spring Half Square Triangle quilt.

I got a bunch of them sewn together. I’m thinking I want to make more blocks and have it be a little bigger. I just love the spring-like colors. I make so many quilts that are dark. The Spring colors are refreshing!

I got a backing together for my Patriotic Spider Web String quilt.

…and I got the quilt loaded on the frame. I’m hoping to work on this when I am back from Iowa City next week.

I’m really happy to have this loaded on the frame. The wedding is at the end of May so I’m still happily on schedule to have it finished on time.

Next week I’ll be gone with radiation treatments. There will be little sewing time for me. Several people have suggested bringing a sewing machine, but I don’t think I’m going to. I don’t want to lug it in and out.

I ended up bringing a couple of wool applique projects, a couple of cross stitch projects, and my English Paper Piecing. I plan to visit some quilt shops and thrift stores if I’m up for it too…who knows, maybe I will go rogue and even take a nap. HA!! I’m sure I’ll have the kids calling to make sure I’m okay, too. I have my laptop with so hopefully all will work and go well, so I can write blog posts too. I have books on tape too so I think I’ll be okay.

  6. Prayers are with you this week and always! Don’t forget to rest a little as treatments build and can take a toll. But do enjoy your free time. You have a wonderful plan that is flexible and enjoyable. Hugs to you!

My prayers continue for you, Jo each and every day. May God watch over and keep you in the palm of His Hand during your treatments. Take care.

  8. When you say you didn’t get much done in sewing room, it seems like much to me. I feel that I am limbo right now. I have quilts to make, but haven’t gotten a feeling which to do. My motivation is low at the time – routine has changed because of some things. I keep you in my prayers and thoughts and in spite of why you are away, may you have some fun and enjoyment.

  9. In anticipation of your radiation treatments bringing you a lot of freedom from your hip pain I am curious whether or not your doctors have given you any idea about how quickly you can expect some noticeable relief. !!!!!?????

Please allow yourself to catch some rest as you go. You will need it to feel your best for the sister time visit. I so hope it will be a really good visit.

  10. I will be thinking of you this week. I hope the treatments go well and you don’t feel too uncomfortable. Take care!
