I am in scattered mode. I had hoped to sew yesterday but I helped clean the garage and I worked on a couple other projects that I’ll tell you about during the upcoming week. On Saturday I finished my “My Red Heaven” quilt and now I’m not concentrated on a project. I have things I am putzing on…but nothing has completely overtaken.
I have these Scrappy Mountain Majesty pieces that I am gradually sewing…
I just got this month’s Quilt Square Quilt Along Block layered together and ready to quilt for when the mood strikes to do that.
I am fighting the urge to drop everything and sew and sew on these guys. Wow!! Aren’t they amazing? If you remember, last week my paper piecing hating self made one of the border blocks for the Pineapple Crazy quilt and found paper piecing was okay. I decided to tempt myself a bit more and tried the pineapple block. I made TWO.
I am addicted. Who knew that could happen?? I honestly really enjoyed making these…in fact I enjoyed it LOTS! Thanks to all the people who have sent me bright scraps. Some of the scraps are working their way into these blocks. These blocks keep calling my name. I am honestly tempted to set all of my other projects aside and just sew these…but that can’t happen right now. I have other things on the front burner. I do know that I won’t be putting these away though. I am going to try to do at least a couple blocks a week….I guess I am going to SLOWLY sew on not one but TWO bucket list quilts. I just look at these blocks and “pet” them. Hopefully next week when I check in I’ll have two more blocks done.
I also have a quilt on the quilting machine…I told you I was scattered about on several projects. Please tell me I’m not the only one that does that!!!
To see what everyone else if working on, check out Patchwork Times.
You are so not the only one who does that! How do you think I got so many UFOs? Am headed out to camp with Calvin, where I get to sew, sew, sew. I can’t wait to see what I can get sewn up with a little bit of focus!!! I adore your pineapple blocks and can’t wait to get started on my own! I am using the four patches for Fair and Square as my leaders and enders, I am up to over 30 of the 360 needed. :)
Lovely projects on the go! You are definitely not the only scattered quilter! I hop around from project to project all the time. It’s great fun!
The addiction will grow and become out of control but, oh is it fun to do paper piecing and pineapple quilts are the best.
Take care!!
Laughed as I walked through my sewing area and saw FOUR different quilts in various stages of progression… You aren’t the only one with ADQD (Attention Deficity Quilt Disorder)!
I love pineapple blocks and love your colors too. I don’t like removing the papers, any tips? I am in scattered mode, I guess summer does that to us.
The red quilt turned out beautiful. I’m sure the couple will treasure it! I LOVE your little stars…still haven’t started mine but I think you have inspired me again. :-)
Love these pineapple blocks. But, I’m not going to start another project now. I love my quilt guild, but we have workshops where we start projects and then finish them at home. I now have four of those. I have three quilts waiting on borders and eight quilts in various stages of completion. I think I have enough PHDs.
No, you’re not alone! I have many projects going mostly because I have the attention span of a mosquito! I love hopping from one to the other. Some of them actually get finished too…..Again. I just love your “My Red Heaven”.
Oh no you are not the only one to do this :0)
too many projects out and I find I don’t know which one to do first
or which way to turn. I have to be careful not to confuse myself :0).
I really need to get my paper piecing pineapples out again…..
they are lovely!
Happy Sewing
Seeing your pineapple blocks convinced me I have to have Bonnie’s new book. The only thing keeping me from doing paper piecing before was coping the block on all those papers. For those cuties I’ll figure it out
I love the pineapple crazy quilt in the String Fling book that you showed on your blog.
I admire you for trying the paper piecing again and doing such a fabulous job with it! I have not tried it yet. Frankly, I am rather intimidated. Love your pineapple blocks! I love bright colors.
I love your pineapple blocks: would love to make some myself.
