What I’m Working On…

If you read last week’s blog post, you know that I didn’t expect to get much sewing done.  I was right.  I didn’t.

I worked a bit on my hourglass blocks.  Here I am sewing more pieces together.  I have a dishwasher packet box full of sewing pieces that need ironing.

My plan was to get them all pressed over nap time one day but that didn’t happen.  I had blog posts to write so that I didn’t get far behind while I was at the retreat.  I’ll hopefully get to them this week.

I helped Kalissa get her stationery packs together.  You might remember that they were featured in Quilter’s World magazine.  They have been selling like gangbusters and she’s had to reorder a couple of times.  That means folding and stuffing and putting them into packs.  You can find them HERE.

She is so thankful for all the support.  She’s been putting money away so she can have a good amount of maternity leave.

I was busy working on…
my True Blue blocks.  I got about 20 finished but forgot to take a picture of them.  They are upstairs…I’m downstairs and feeling too lazy to go take a picture.  SORRY.

They are from this book…

You can find it HERE.

I started a new project.  Well…I have one that is just beginning.  I have the design.  I did a prototype.  I am supposed to keep it under wraps a bit for now.  Hopefully, I can tell you soon.

I’ll give you a couple of clues…
I need this phone book from Pauline.

…and I need to dust off the Singer 15-91.

How is that for clues??

I got some fabric ordered and that should be arriving this week.  Then I’ll be sewing on this.  I’m waiting on an email to see if this will be a “slow-boat” project or a rush job.  I’m actually hoping for something in between.

I have a lot of stuff going on this week.  I’ll tell you more about it as the month unfolds.

I don’t expect a lot of time for sewing this week.  I have kids a couple of days.  I’m going to help Buck another day.  It’s supposed to be really hot this week so the plants are going to need extra water.  I have to say, it’s been great so far this summer.  I can get by not even having to water every other day but this week will likely be every day and a half.  That’s okay.  The plants are looking amazing.  I’m hoping to snag some pictures and show them off soon.  There’s always so much to do around here.  It’s a miracle I get any sewing time.

Hopefully, I’ll have more to show you in the sewing department next week.  School is just around the corner and I need to get Gannon and Georgia’s preschool quilts made.  That’s top of the list right now unless that mystery project bumps in.

Looks like another wedding ring quilt, if the pattern pieces on that dusty Singer 15-91 are a clue…
Looking forward to hearing about the retreat, too. Take care, Jo, drive safe!

Hi Jo, you still managed some sewing , ironing comes later on a cool day.
Qu: Please could you tell me if your Singer 15-91 hand cranked or does it have a motor? I am looking for a simple QUIET machine I can us in our sitting room while the other half watches TV?
Love and God Bless to you and your Family

Christina, I use a Singer 66 treadle machine that is very quiet. The only sounds are the sound of the pedal going back and forth and the needle bar going up and down…..It sews like a charm.

Hi, your week sounds like it’s packed to the brim. Enjoy your time with the family. Mom had a pedal Singer like that when I was little. I like your clues on the Singer

I guess we will have to wait to see your mystery project! ha! I’m anxious to see the finished preschoolers quilts. Hopefully you will get to work on them soon.
