What I’m Working On…

I have LOTS of irons in the fire this weekend.  I’ll try to catch you up this week on all the things I was busy with.  This post, I’m going to just focus on the crafting side of things.

I was up early a few mornings this week and got a few blocks done.  This was one mornings accomplishments.  The blocks aren’t anything that goes quickly.  That’s for sure!!

I do enjoy putzing on them though.  You can see that by Friday morning I was this far.  Can you see the flying geese heart starting to take shape in the middle?

My goal was to get this really close to a top by the end of the long weekend.  Do you want to see how I did??  Check it out…..
The coloring is more like the picture above…I almost have it together.  I need to make a strip that goes on the right side of the heart.  That’s going to take a bit as I no longer have any pieces that are constructed so I have to make it by scratch…I’m thinking I might make one more border that goes along the bottom of the heart too.
My letters borders are longer than I thought so I need to build up the center a little bit more…or mess with the already constructed borders.  We’ll see what happens.  I am getting closer though.

I might have gotten finished but I was sidetracked by this cross stitch.  I’ve been wanting to get one finished each month and this one is the August one and look, August has passed us by.  I’m close though.  One evening of stitching and it should be finished.

Then I’ll be on to the next month.  That one is “Friendship”.  At this point, after this one is finished, I have four left of the sheep virtues to stitch.  I’m pretty proud of myself.  I started up cross stitch and have done a pretty good job sticking to it.

Next week is a busy week for me.  We’ll see how much stitching and quilting I get done.  I had family home today and yesterday so no crafty time.  But we did get a few jobs done around here.  Stop by later in the week and I’ll show you what we accomplished.

  1. The baby quilt’s colors and patterns are peaceful. The quilt will be fun to touch, hug, and rub little fingers against because of all the seams. Great job.

  3. The quilt is really coming together – It looks great – the I love the monthly cross stitches also – each one has a great word to meditate on while you do them. Friendship will be extra special and we can all use wisdom.

  4. I love the shade of purple – it’s going to be beautiful!
I love the monthly cross stitch patterns. They’re nice to hang up with other smalls picturing the month.
    Love and prayers

  5. I love the soft colors of this quilt! Very girly. The cross stitch is lovely. What are you going to do with them when you finish them all? Pillows like the picture?

  6. Oh my and WOW!! Absolutely love the quilt! The colors are perfect!! Such a special quilt for a special grand daughter. The heart is such a great touch. It will be treasured and loved. Always loved the other one that you made with reds for your grandson. It all looks overwhelming to me. Thanks for sharing.

  7. The quilt is coming along. It is beautiful and will be much loved. When you started cross-stitching, it reminded me of all the cross stitch I did, but stopped to work on quilting. I thought that I should get something to cross stitch after seeing the what you were working on. I did get some supplies, but that is as far as I’ve gotten. Maybe in the winter I’ll start a project. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Love original designed by you quilt for Georgia especially the colors & the heart! Perfect for a precious little grand daughter!

  9. I love Georgia’s quilt. The colors are so sweet and that heart just really grabs the eye. I’m sure she will love and treasure that quilt.

I’m curious as to what you will do with the cross stitch. Are you going to make a group wall hanging? A quilt? Pillows? Or just hang them up each month?

Glad you were able to make the long weekend work for you. I was lazy but did get another row on the Let’s Stay Home and Quilt dome. Missed the completion day for the QAL but treatments were more important. It’s almost done.

Take care. Love, hugs and prayers coming your way.

Oh that Georgia’s a blessed baby to get that quilt it’s so lovely in every way. The cross stitching is something I’ve tried but counting doesn’t work for me. I really like looking at the finished pictures. We all need lots of wisdom these days
