What I’m Working On….

I ended up sick with a cold.  I was really tempted to lay on the couch and complete rest.  I thought about finding a Netflix show and simply laying down and binge watching ALL DAY LONG…but I decided that I didn’t want to be that sick.  I felt absolutely miserable but then convinced myself that the next day I’d feel worse mentally if I didn’t do something so I decided to hang out in the sewing room.  I was going to allow myself to work on anything I wanted -no deadline projects- If I wasn’t going to rest on the couch I was going to “rest” in the sewing room and that’s what I did.

Kalissa tempted me asking me to go to a flea market.  Kelli asked me to go to the Rendezvous in Fort Atkinson.  I told them both, “No-I was resting”.

So being I could do whatever I wanted can you guess what I sewed?  If you guess my Spider Web quilt, you guessed right!!

I now have all of the blocks finished and sewn.  Next up, these are going to become a middle.

I also sewed all of the pieced border pieces.  See?

Remember my messy sewing room.  Well somewhere in there is the matching black fabric.  I might need to stop and clean a bit once I get the center together so I have it for the border treatment.

Little by little this quilt is coming together.  It’s been a slow process but I’ve only really worked on it in little bits of squeezed in time.  I can’t wait for the middle to get sewn together.  Dare I hope that might happen next week.  Fingers crossed-I really shouldn’t though.  I have other things I need to be working on.  Stop back next week to see which projects wins out and has my time.

  1. I so understand. On Friday night I could tell the second summer cold was starting. Felt better just working in the sewing room with the youtube channel on and the sewing machine whirling.

Got the borders on three quilts and then the scrappy blue border on BH’s Jamestown Landing. Binding sorted and ironed.

Still stuffed up today so back to the sewing room. Hope you feel better soon.

  2. Pieced backs for My Blue Heaven (finally!) and Easy Street, I have been pretty dedicated to scrap management otherwise. My sewing room desperately needs a good fall clean-dusting, vacuuming, putting away. I am trying to get things organized, so I can clean it now and be productive all winter. Can’t wait to devote my time to the string spiderweb.
