I have a wedding quilt in the make. Remember these notes from a week or so ago?
I had told you I was working on a quilt…I was. I didn’t let it sit very long. I had these cut out in no time….
I sewed a lot over the weekend and got all the blocks made.
I even got the center finished…but now I’m busy deciding on borders. Sadly, I’m not showing the whole quilt. I want to keep it under wraps a bit…but what’s a girl to do when it’s a gift quilt? Do I add that last outer white-ish border?
I’m leaning towards yes.
So far, I’m really happy with this quilt. It was not challenging which is always nice if I am chasing a deadline. I’m plenty okay with time as of now…the wedding isn’t until July June 22nd.
I am already debating about the quilting and don’t have a clue about that…any suggestions? The quilt suppose to have more of a modern feel and neutral like the vintage farmhouse look. That puts me at a loss. I’m wondering if straight lines might be best.
I think the light outside border looks good. Also, straight lines sounds good. Did you mean the wedding is July 22nd because June 22 is past. The quilt looks very pretty.
I agree with Gretchen. Hope the wedding is in July!
I think the addition of the white border is good. Definitely straight lines for a modern finish. Maybe a Greek key design to sort of enhance the design? I’m sure it will look fab whatever you decide.
Wow, that quilt was done in a flash! By the looks of your quilt, I feel the quilting will only really be noticeable in the white space. What a wonderful gift!
I agree with Gretchen. Straight lines would look good. Anxious to see the whole quilt. Looking good!
Normally I like a dark frame around a quilt. But on this one a light border should make all your dark pieces float. Which ever border you choose will be good. Quilting? keep it simple and uniform in size
Yes on the white border.
I like the white border. Gives the color rounds more of a pop.
The white is nice. I say yes to straight lines. I myself am not a fan of overly quilted quilts. I don’t like the feel of them. Simple straight lines that aren’t dense would be nice. Simple is always best, lets the fabrics shine. It will be a great gift ;c)
I love the way your quilt looks! (I can imagine the finished project. They are going to love it!!! Straight lines always work, but I saw something with a more modern feel just today. It looks fairly simple and might fit the bill. I am including a link for you to see what you think.

Whatever you decide to do, it will look awesome!
