What I’m Working On…

I was pretty productive this week.  I got a lot of things sent out to people.  I have a new person who volunteered to take some of the charity quilt tops.  Yahoo.  She got a new quilting machine and was looking for some practice quilts.  She offered to take FIVE so I sent them her way.  (I’ll take more volunteers if there are any.) I also sent out things to a few charitable organizations that could use a little help with supplies.  I’ll be talking about that later this week too.

In between all of that I’ve been mostly working UFOs.  Typically I have two projects in full swing…a project that is a deadline, gift or publication quilt and then my UFO.  I was on hold waiting to get to town to get some backing fabric for the mystery so I pulled and sorted UFOs and figuring out which needed backings.  Friday I went to town and got them.  If you remember last year I took time off twice.  Once I took time because of my cancer and the second time I took time off because of my foot surgery.  Each time I did, I worked almost entirely on quilting charity quilts.  This time, I decided that I am going to work on my UFOs and personal quilts that need to be quilted.  I am so happy….

I ended up jumping the gun and started in…  Here is Wonky Wishes on the frame.  Yahoo!!  I’m so happy to have this one here and working on it.

Wonky-Wishes-1

I end up getting it off the frame….What do you think? The picture is a little “wonky”.  Sorry.

Wonky-Wishes-2

I started the binding but then had to quit so I could get blog posts written….that’s the problem with being a blogger.  I have to stop what I’m doing so I can tell you about it!

Wonky-Wishes-3

I’m hoping this will be done and I can show it off to you on Friday….Have I mentioned how excited I am about it??  I really am!  For those of you who don’t know, this is a Bonnie Hunter pattern.  I promised that I would give my pattern away on the day I finished it so if you think you’d like this pattern and don’t have it, make sure to stop back on Friday..there just might be a giveaway!

After that one came off I decided that I better load a charity quilt…Do you recognize this one?  It’s Tulip Fields.  It is a Bonnie Hunter design from her book String Fling.  Seeing this is making me want to make it too.  It’s been on my list to make..I just haven’t gotten there yet.  Seeing this one is making me consider it even more.  I love strings so the only thing holding me back is time.

Check out Ruby peeking out at the bottom.

Wonky-Wishes-4

I couldn’t believe that someone would go to all the work to make this and then give it away….How generous!!  I’m a little greedy and RARELY give away a Bonnie quilt unless it’s to my kids.

Wonky-Wishes-5

I’ll have more UFO progress to share with you for Wednesday…Stop back and see what else has me busy.

  1. Love your Wonky Wishes! Tulip Fields is beautiful also. Like you I find it hard to believe some one would put that much work into a charity quilt.

  2. I’ve kept watch for your Wonky Wishes. Loved that one at first sight, so seeing variations is helpful in deciding how I want to tackle it. Plus, I just love your quilts. Have a great week!

  3. Yes, your Wonky Wishes is lovely. The dark colors you used for the background really make the stars stand out. Ruby is cute peeking out.

Your Wonky Wishes quilt is lovely. I do like the Tulip Fields quilt with all that yellow. It makes me “happy”.

  5. Love your Wonky Wishes and I love Bonnie Hunter designs. The only top I have finished is En Provence. Just ordered backing for it. Forgot about batting. Mine will have to be hand quilted, which will take forever, but it just won’t fit through the throat of my little Singer. Oh, I just got the two Scraps and Shirttails books in the mail today! So excited!

  6. I love your Wonky Wishes! Although, I have yet to see any of your quilts that I dislike. ;) Your work is amazing!
