Friday, our daughter Kelli was home…so was our daughter Kayla!! It was nice to have the girls home. We had our Christmas last Sunday so I didn’t need to do a lot of cooking so we crafted instead.
I was busy working on my Orca Bay mystery quilt. I LOVE it so far. Check out these Ohio Star blocks….
I have 33 black and 35 white blocks done. We only needed 28 of each but I want mine bigger so I have a few extra blocks done. My guess is that I will need more but…we will see as Bonnie reveals more clues.
I am also working with this stack of fabric.
This is Moda’s line Morris and Company designed by Barbara Brackman. This fabric will be Moda Bake Shop project featured some time in January. I have the blocks for this quilt almost done. So far, I love the quilt!! Make sure to check back here on December 30th as I’ll be showing off a different Moda Bake Shop quilt I made earlier this month.
I have also been squeezing in a little time to work on this….
This is the first design that we will be working on for the Quilt Square Quilt A Long. I know many of you are anxiously waiting to see what the first block will be…If you haven’t heard about the Quilt Square Quilt A Long, you can find out more information right here. There is PLENTY of time to join in. It would be so fun to have LOTS of you quilting a long. If you stop back on the 29th, I’ll show you the block we will all be making in January. I’ll also give you some tips for making your block a success. It has been SO fun making this block. I actually think I might make another.
To see how others are doing on their Orca Bay Mystery quilt, check out Quiltville’s Quips and Snips…and to check out other design walls, head on over to Patchwork Times.
The photos don’t work on my computer for the quilt along post :(
But it sounds like fun. Of course, I’m still working away like a turtle on my crumb quilt.
Love your Ohio Stars…so interesting to see all the fabrics!
Jo, your blocks look great and I so envy the fact that your girls are actually interested in quilting. I have three grown daughters and they are not the least bit interested…. yet…. :)
I ordered all 3 patterns that you will be using for the Quilt Along….the quilt shop has fast service…ordered the beginning of last week and had the patterns at my house by the end of the week. I really like these patterns and can’t wait until you announce the first block. Thanks for this fun year long event!
I blame you for causing me to make a 100 mile round trip today to buy a cut of each piece of that Morris & Company fabric. It is gorgeous! And even better in person. Well worth the trip! It is very unlike what I normally purchase (brights is my norm, and blue is way out of my comfort zone, lol) but oh my goodness, every piece in the line was beautiful. I have no clue what I will do with it all but I am so glad I bought it. Thanks for posting the picture
The ohio star blocks are looking great.
