What I’m Working On…

Can you believe my quarantine is all over…I can’t.  It went so fast.  I expected to get some things done and didn’t..other things I didn’t expect to get done I did.

I am so ready to have kids here again.  You can bet that at 7:15 when they start arriving, I’ll be all smiles.  So more than anything this week, I am getting back into the groove and finding a new routine.  I am happy about that.

So one would have thought over my break I got lots of piecing done…not true at all.  I hardly sewed anything.  I was at the quilting machine or binding quilts but no piecing.  I miss it.  I dearly miss it…but that’s changing starting today.  I am going back to my wake up early and piece schedule.  I’m so happy.

I did manage to sew a few flying geese for the border of the Santa Fe String Star quilt.

Santa-Fe-String-Star

I have yet to pick a project to work on for my UFO challenge.  (read about that here if you missed it).  You’re welcome to join us!!

I did go through and take pictures of all of my Bonnie Hunter UFOs though….oh my you’ll want to be here on Wednesday to see the pictures of all of those…my oh my, there were more than I expected!!  Any guesses on how many??

Most of the kids made it home for Mother’s Day…it was nice and very much appreciated….and today Kalissa and Craig are going in for an ultrasound to find out if the new grand baby on the way will be a boy or a girl.  So many fun things are happening today.  It’s a great way to start “life after cancer”…..a morning that starts out with quilting, continues with my childcare kiddos, news on a new grand baby…and eventually sharing supper with Hubby.

It’s these things that mean the most to me and these things I am going to take time to focus on.  My break has given me time to slow down and think about a lot of things in life…what I like, what I don’t and things I want to improve on.  I hope to share some of that here in the next coming month.

In the mean time, I am going to figure out what UFO I’m sewing on…I need to grab one and go but I love them all…it’s hard to pick just one.

Find out what others are working on at Patchwork Times.

  1. I’m working on about 10 Bonnie quilts, that’s my guess. You’ve completed so many, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if your number’s slightly less. Happy Post-Cancer!

  2. Nothing like absence to make the heart grow fonder, as they say. I would also be excited to be back at my regular routine after so long. But golly, you were productive at the quilting machine. Hope the day exceeds your expectations.

  3. My guess is 7. I can’t wait until Wed. to see the pictures of your Bonnie Hunter UFO’s.
May this day be all that you hope for and more.

  4. Love all of Bonnie Hunter quilts and I have yet to start one but that will change when I take two classes from her in July. Excited to see all of them that you have, lets guess 11. Today sounds like a perfect day and lots of good things are happening for you. Enjoy it all. Saying good by to cancer is a wonderful things.

  5. I am going to guess that it’s a Baker’s Dozen (lucky 13). Actually, I hope you don’t have quite that many, but no one else has taken that number. However many you have, Happy Sewing and Quilting!

  6. I love the idea of the Bonnie Hunter UFO challenge. I’m going to dig all mine out as well and do a count! I’ll be watching for your post on Wednesday and will link my count in as well.
