It’s a busy day here on the blog.  We have a project that is featured on Moda Bake Shop today and some of you might be looking for that so I am directing traffic…….The Moda Bake Shop Project is here. It’s a fun quilt with a neat story.  If you want to read the latest happenings on the blog, you can find that here.  If you want to see our quilt that is being featured in the latest Quiltmaker magazine that’s here…the latest on our house remodel is here and the latest quilt I finished Celtic Solstice is here.
I’ve been a busy girl but I’ve managed to keep up with the mystery so far. Â I finished up clue #1 on Wednesday and was ready for the next step when clue #2 came out on Friday. Â I was happy to see that it was easy cutting. Â Squares and rectangles are a breeze and I can easily cut them out while talking on the phone….
Being I don’t want to get behind every day I try to do something for the mystery. Â I thought I would take time right away on Friday morning to cut out the neutral rectangles. Â I got out my scrap bin to pull 2 1/2″ strips and the phone rang. Â I put the phone on speaker and continued working. Â It was just Kelli wanting to chat.
After the neutrals were pulled I started cutting. Â I put the strips in stacks of five while I was talking on the phone and cutting at the same time. Â That way I could easily count by fives and still talk.
In no time the neutrals were cut-all came from my scrap bin. Â Then I was on to the pinks and browns. Â I was about 1/2 way through the browns when Kelli and I got done chatting. Â I decided to just finish that up so the clue was all cut and I was on to sewing. Â But that waited until Saturday.
I started sewing the pinks onto the neutrals and my brain wouldn’t let me relax and sew. Â I want some thing to do with those bonus triangles I was making. Â I love the bonus triangle method. Â It’s easy and I love having those extras to play with….and trust me-when I get set on something..there is no stopping my brain.
Before long I gave up the sewing machine and went to the computer. Â What could I make with those bonus triangles?? Â I wanted to come up with something that used all of them….I ended up with this…
It’s a baby quilt..or lap quilt finishing at 48″ x 48″. Â I will use up 196 of the pink bonus triangles. Â What do you think??
Well I thought enough about it that over the weekend I tackled step two because I can’t make the bonus baby quilt without the bonus triangles…and I can’t get the bonus triangles without sewing clue #2.
So clue #1 and clue #2 are finished.
…and I started on the bonus triangle quilt.
Keep stopping back. Â I’ll try to squeeze in some time to write a pattern and share it here for the bonus triangle quilt in case anyone else would like to give it a try. Â I love using up the scraps as quickly as I make them.
Today I am hooking up with Patchwork Times and Quiltville.
Wow that is amazing, how you cam up with a second quilt using the bonus triangles. So glad you linked up with LInky Monday. May of never found you if it weren’t for Bonnie.
Thanks for Sharing

I’d like that bonus triangle quilt!
Really like the bonus triangle quilt in the colors you have. I’m not doing the mystery, but may save this for another project.
So you are making this Mystery a Two for one experience. I’m saving my Bonus HST’s fro an Ocean Waves quilt that is on my someday list. Great Job!
You are one busy lady, Jo! Love all that you get done with all that you have going on. Your colors are so soft and welcoming. Can’t wait for the finish. And the bonus quilt is adorable. You go girl!!!
Great job on clue two!
Well, now I just might have to do the bonus triangles. I was just going to cut HST and avoid them but that’s a darn cute pattern and given how there seem to be a never-ending supply of babies to give quilts to…. off to cut squares.
