Yesterday I told you about a box of scraps and goodies that came in the mail from one of my blog readers. Â In the box were several pieces of fabric in reds, whites and blacks. Â Well I got thinking…
If you haven’t been over to Crazy Mom Quilts, then you haven’t heard about her quilt along. Â I had known about it but didn’t think I had time to join in. Â But then when the fabric came and the quilt along was announced it all came together in my mind and before I had time to tell myself I didn’t have time for this I was cutting out fabric and sewing.
I didn’t count my strips…I just started cutting. Â I figured I would cut more if I didn’t have enough. Â I was thinking I wanted mine a little bigger than hers. Â I started cutting Friday after lunch and started sewing like a mad woman.
By Saturday I have all the strip sets together and cut into units….that’s when I realized I had cut enough strips for TWO quilts!!
Sunday I sewed all the rows together and had TWO completed quilt tops. Â No joke or exaggeration..I think I had the two tops done from start to finish in 9 hours…backs and binding prepped too.
Both of mine are in a 10 x 12 setting making them 60″ x 72″.
It was a whirl wind…one I thoroughly enjoyed! Â Now today I am hoping to get to the quilting machine with the tops.

Hello, about the Quilt Along from Crazy Mom Quilts, do you mean The Scrap Basket Quilt Along?
http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.fr/2014/06/scrap-basket-quilt-along-introduction.html
I look forward to seeing your two quilt tops!
Sure wish you could have shown us one of your completed tops —– or both of them!
wait a minute! don’t we get to see a picture? not even one teensy, little picture?
How fun, what a lot to accomplish in a weekend.
Speaking of scraps, do you want any crumbs? I have a pile of them (a bunch of them are triangles) and I know I’m never going to use all of them, but I also can’t quite bring myself to throw them away… I’d be happy to send them on if you’d use them!
Both of these look so neat! Would love to see them unfolded.
