I didn’t do much piecing at all last week. Â I worked with the quilting machine though. Â I have two quilts to bind-one mine-one for charity.
I did manage to get all of these triangles cut. Â I’ve sewn a couple hundred already. Â Can you believe I need 1600 half square triangles for my next quilt??
The triangles are teaming up with these pieces to make blocks…
That is if I ever get the triangles all sewn.
This week will be an interesting one. Â We’ve beefed up efforts on trying to accomplish more on the house this week….I also have company coming for the weekend…lots of company in the form of my nieces and nephews. Â There are five. Â They’re staying for four overnights. Â It’s going to be interesting for sure. Â Luckily Kelli has a little time-Kayla-Karl and Kalissa are popping in too. Â That should help in that I am not the whole entertainment committee.
We worked on the house yesterday and got a few things done. Â Stop back later this afternoon and I’ll fill you in on the latest with the new house.
To see what others are working on, check out Patchwork Times.
Jo, consider putting your visitors to work!! It is so much fun to work with family, as long as you also provide fun times as well. There’s such a feeling of accomplishment to share – not just entertainment, but physical proof of being together as well that really lasts. Plus, “I helped Aunt Jo!” is a great statement for a parent to hear later.
Hope you’re using a speed piecing method for those hst’s. Looking forward to seeing the quilt.
You are knock those HSTs out in nearly no time. Just keep plugging away and you’ll look up and they’re all done……that’s my peep talk to you!!!
Take care.
That is a LOT of HST units. Looks like a fun quilt though, so I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.
Jo, do you need all red and white HST’s or could you use a few blue and white in the mix?
I’ve got about 100 blue and white 2.5 inch HST’s that i’d be glad to send you in the mail.
Let me know if you need them.
I’m not sure I would actually start something that needed 1600 half square triangles! And, I have to admit I have a hard time seeing the triangles going with the rectangles. Should be fun to see it progress.
Oohh! Can’t wait to see those 1/2 square triangles dancing with the strippy rectangles! How long do we have to wait? :)
5 young’uns for 4 nights? Three words come to mind: ‘Fun’ and ‘wiped out’. LOL
