What I’m Working On…

I have lots of quilting related things I should be doing but Sunday I spent part of my day hanging out in the garage with Kelli and and Karl.  Kelli was chalk painting and Karl was cleaning guns.  Me…I was stripping.  Paint stripping.

If this is ever going to get done, we need to work get working on it.  I didn’t get very far but stripping is pretty boring work and if I do a little at time, I’ll eventually get it done.  Hubby would like to be more of a help but the weather has him in the field.

I did pull some fabric for a hopefully quick to sew project that I hope to tackle this week.  This is Moda’s line Aviary from a few years ago.

It’s time to use it up and I think I have a fun idea to use it….hopefully I’ll share the pattern in a week or two once I finish it.

I also have a quilt that has to be in the mail tomorrow so the rest of today I’ll be working on that until I have to head out to Independence and teach child care classes.  It certainly is never boring around here…  From stripping to chalk paint to sewing to machine quilting to teaching childcare classes all in one day!!

  1. Can’t wait to see the new pattern! I want to make the Butter Churn quilt sometime too! Summer’s coming! Thanks for all you do!

  2. If you are planning on painting this with Annie Sloan paint then it doesn’t need to be stripped…just give it a coat of primer (which you don’t REALLY have to do either) Got to love Annie!!
    I love that cabinet!

I can’t wait to see what you do with the AVERY fabrics!! I have a stash of that line, I just haven’t cut into because they are pretty. By the way, slow but steady will win the race on the cabinet!!! Enjoy the process!
