This week is wedding week here so I’m pretty busy with that. Â When the other kids got married they all got married in towns further away that required us to get a hotel room. Â This time, the wedding is just a town or two away. Â We’re staying at our house and our kids will all be home so that means food prep and cleaning for me. Â I’m trying to get a couple meals made up ahead, the beds made and some house cleaning done. Â We’re also trying to do a few things on the cheap so that means a little more labor which is all okay, just a little crazy.
In between it all, last week I cut out blocks to make a quilt from this fabric. Â This is a Free Spirit line called Dowry by Anna Maria Horner. Â It’s so fun. Â Notice there is no white or neutral background. Â That is unusual for me.
The quilt is fast. Â I cut all the blocks out and sewer them all in one day last week. Â Now unfortunately they’ve sat a few days. Â My goal is to get the top sewn together in between everything else this week….wish me luck. Â Unfortunately it’s another deadline project and the deadline didn’t move just because Kelli is getting married.
From those blocks I got a little stack of bonus triangles. Â I’m not sure what I’m doing with them yet.
While I was sewing other things last week I did manage to get 22 Lozenges sewn.
That’s it from me this week on progress. Â I did get the wedding quilt bound but that will have to wait until Friday for the big reveal.
To see what others are working on, check out Patchwork Times.
Ca’t wait to see the big reveal of the DWR quilt.
It is so beatiful. Almost makes me want to make one.
Yay for the lozenges! I didn’t get any made this past weekend, gotta get organized on that!
Love those bonus triangles!
I am so envious of you being able to go to a thrift store. I love thrift stores but have moved to an area that doesn’t have any. Saves me lots of money but also doesn’t give me a chance to save any money on things I could use. I will have a chance to hit one Wednesday when I drive 2 hours north to attend a wedding of a dear friend. Love your blog…the format just suits me fine.
You seem very calm for a MoB! Have a wonderful time with all your kids at home.
I can’t believe you got all that wonderful sewing done with all this wedding stuff going on around you! It probably helped you stay sane though, lol! Good luck with it all and enjoy your full house! xCathy
