Last week, I sewed two quilt tops and started a third. Â It’s been CRAZY around here.
While I was doing that, Kelli sewed a quilt top and started a second. Â See what I mean by CRAZY!!
Well, my sewing room suffered a big blow. Â It is a mess.
It’s so bad that it’s to the point that I have to stop and clean in order to get any more work done!!
UGH, UGH, UGH!! Â We all know I hate cleaning. Â I have to be in the right mood and so far, that mood hasn’t hit. Â It needs to because right now, I can’t find the machine, the cutting board or the ironing board.
Well…I guess what I’m working on is cleaning the sewing room. Â Sadly, sometimes, that’s what has to happen.
Oh, I don’t know, I might be able to get by with throwing the stuff that’s on the cutting table into a laundry basket and just start cutting out a new quilt anyway. Â Oh, I wouldn’t never do that…WRONG!! Â I would. Â I would do it in a heartbeat….especially if I am chasing deadlines.
Today I am hooking up with Patchwork Times.
I know I would do that, especially if I found that perfect fabric for that quilt that I wanted to make – I just can’t put it away and forget about it. And if I didn’t start it right then, the moment would pass and I wouldn’t cut up more fabric. Hope you got a lot accomplished cleaning. We were just at a weekend retreat, so I have to put away stuff – hate to do that also. Have a good day – from northern Iowa . . . .
I’m currently in the middle of 4 big quilting projects so my solution to the disarray is just to clear off a small working area on my cutting table and I have three in progress quilts on top of an almost finished Queen size quilt on my design wall!!! Oh my!!!
What! Clean?!! You have more than a path to walk through!
Yes, there are times when it gets totally away and an orderly space is so inviting.
I like to make “scrap” quilts which may involve pulling out 4 totes of civil war fabrics to cut a 2″ square! Have a good week!
I sympathise, I’ve been sorting stuff all weekend, and am itching to get my hand round my rotary cutter. In my case the mess is so bad that all that valuable fabric and yarn (can’t possibly throw anything away) has spilled over into the living room.
