What I’m Working On…

Here in Iowa we’ve had a nasty Sunday of terrible weather.  I decided that very little was going to happen around here except the sewing of that wedding quilt.  I started at 9 am and sewed pretty much the whole time until about 4:30 in the afternoon.

I have four rows sewn together.

I have a few more rows in various states.  In all reality I think I spend WAY more time pinning than I have actually at the sewing machine.  For me, I’m not a pinner unless it’s absolutely necessary so this is all quite a task for me.

I got enough pieces and rows sewn together that I can at least know that I’ll have it done in time for the wedding…that’s a HUGE relief.  My goal is to have the top finished by early February….I think I can, I think I can.

The second this is together, I have a deadline project that I have to tackle and tackle fast.

If you missed the post on tips for making a double wedding ring quilt, you can find that post here.

  1. Jo, this is a beautiful quilt. Love the color choices. Kelli and Jason are two lucky people that will cherish this quilt forever. Can’t wait to see it all completed.

  2. It’s going to be gorgeous. I really like the dk. blue background with the scrappiness. May have to borrow that idea. I have one DWR top made with 30s fabrics and white background, but really like this blue. I used Mary Ellen Hopkins’ pattern and it went together really well…..though it looks like a real mess until you get the 4-patches sewed in place AFTER you set the rest of it together. Quite different from the way yours goes together.
