What I’m Working On….

That double wedding ring quilt is taking up most of my time lately and luckily, there’s a little more progress on it too.

I really was unsure of the size and how many blocks I would need so I’ve been working to get a row finished hoping that would help me with calculations.  Well here’s one row..and the start of another.

I’ve determined that the quilt will be about 92″ x 92″ in a 10 x 10 setting.  I was so happy with the progress and then started looking at the calendar and making plans to see how it would work out with the wedding being March 15th.  I was happily thinking that I was in good shape.  I could make a goal of one row a week.  That’s when I realized..OH NO!!!

The wedding is only 8 weeks away.  I have to get more than one row done a week.  I NEED to try to get almost TWO rows done a week so I have time to machine quilt it and bind it before the wedding.

Oh my…that is going to be ambitious but it’s what I need to do…so I’ll do it.

I have lots more pieces in various states of progress but I do need to do more blocks.

I can say that this quilt is starting to look really good though. Kelli has made some good choice on the color.

I think I actually cut out to many blocks which might just be a good thing because I am starting to think I just might want one of these for myself….I know, crazy, right?!?!

Today I am hooking up with Patchwork Times.

  1. I love your quilt. It’s coming along nicely. The blue you chose for the background fabric is beautiful. It’s such a great color with the variety of other colors and prints you are using.

  2. That’s going to look awesome. You could make enough blocks to cover just the top of the bed, then have a wide plain navy border, and do some of your fabulous quilting there. That would save you some time . . .

  3. I have always wanted to do a double wedding ring. I can’t get the blocks together without a hole or a pucker….so I stopped at a table runner. Yours is beautiful.

  4. The quilt is going to be beautiful! Lovely fabrics. I can’t wait to see it finished. I just told my last unmarried daughter the other day that I hope I have at least a years notice to make her a wedding quilt.

  5. That is absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it finished. I have a wonderful friend who is making one and it is all hand stitched.
