That double wedding ring quilt is taking up most of my time lately and luckily, there’s a little more progress on it too.
I really was unsure of the size and how many blocks I would need so I’ve been working to get a row finished hoping that would help me with calculations. Â Well here’s one row..and the start of another.
I’ve determined that the quilt will be about 92″ x 92″ in a 10 x 10 setting. Â I was so happy with the progress and then started looking at the calendar and making plans to see how it would work out with the wedding being March 15th. Â I was happily thinking that I was in good shape. Â I could make a goal of one row a week. Â That’s when I realized..OH NO!!!
The wedding is only 8 weeks away. Â I have to get more than one row done a week. Â I NEED to try to get almost TWO rows done a week so I have time to machine quilt it and bind it before the wedding.
Oh my…that is going to be ambitious but it’s what I need to do…so I’ll do it.
I have lots more pieces in various states of progress but I do need to do more blocks.
I can say that this quilt is starting to look really good though. Kelli has made some good choice on the color.
I think I actually cut out to many blocks which might just be a good thing because I am starting to think I just might want one of these for myself….I know, crazy, right?!?!
Today I am hooking up with Patchwork Times.
I love your quilt. It’s coming along nicely. The blue you chose for the background fabric is beautiful. It’s such a great color with the variety of other colors and prints you are using.
The double wedding quilt is looking great! A labor of love for the happy couple.
Love the colors. You will get it done.
The blue is just gorgeous. It really makes the colors pop. And I agree… I’d make one for myself, too!
Absolutely B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !!!!
That’s going to look awesome. You could make enough blocks to cover just the top of the bed, then have a wide plain navy border, and do some of your fabulous quilting there. That would save you some time . . .
I’ve always wanted a scrappy wedding ring. Love it!!
You will get it done!
Oh double wedding ring is one of my favorite quilts. I do LOVE the color selection for yours. It’s gorgeous
I love the nontraditional colors. I keep seeing these posted on your site and I am just going to have to tackle one!
I have always wanted to do a double wedding ring. I can’t get the blocks together without a hole or a pucker….so I stopped at a table runner. Yours is beautiful.
It looks very pretty. I look forward to the finished quilt!
The quilt is going to be beautiful! Lovely fabrics. I can’t wait to see it finished. I just told my last unmarried daughter the other day that I hope I have at least a years notice to make her a wedding quilt.
That is absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it finished. I have a wonderful friend who is making one and it is all hand stitched.
It is going to be really beautiful. So out of the box with the colors. Good luck. I know you can get it done.
