What I’m Watching….

Before I get to tonight’s post:

Kayla is getting a guest post ready for me answering tech questions about the blog. Now onto tonight’s post:

Cross stitch for me, equals watching television…so I’ve been cross stitching so I’ve been television watching.

Here’s what I found that’s kept my interest.

On Amazon Prime…  The Mill.  This is a historical drama and me being a “historical girl” loved it.  This is set in England at cotton mill.  The time period is late 1830-early 1840s when laborers were fighting for better working conditions.

Amazon.com: The Mill - Series One: Jamie Draven, Kerrie Hayes ...
It was easy for me to fall in love with the characters and be cheering them on from the seat of my 2020 living room couch.  I recommend this tremendously.

There are only two seasons.  I seriously could have watched several more.

As I was writing this post, I see that full episodes are on Youtube.  I don’t know if full episodes of the entire series…but it would be worth checking out if you don’t have Amazon Prime.

I watched Hidden.  I think I told you about this before…I watched season 1 then and season 2 now.  I watched on Acorn but if you don’t have that, I see that season 1 is available on Prime.

This is a Welsh police show.  I really like it.  Cady the main character is good.

I will warn you that part of the show is spoken in Welsh.  Not a lot.  At first this frustrated me as I wanted to cross stitch and not look up and read the screen.  Well, I got into the show and then I didn’t mind a bit.

Here’s a trailer for it….

The next series I watched was on …

Apple TV.  It was so good…

Truth be Told

Premiere: Hear 'Hunting At Buhrman's' from Apple's 'Truth Be Told ...

Here’s a little synopsis.

The murder case that propelled a true-crime podcaster to nationwide fame comes back to haunt her when new evidence arises that suggests her original suspect may have been wrongfully convicted.”

I liked the show…It was well worth paying the extra for Apple TV for a month to watch this series and Defending Jacob which I told you about earlier.

Here’s a trailer for you….

Also on Apple TV…Home Before Dark

Home Before Dark — Official Trailer | Apple TV+ - YouTube

This was a mystery show with lots of ups and downs.  There are 10 episodes which is nice.  So many of the series that I watch are only 6 episodes….10 is better for really settling into a show.

Here is a little synopsis of the show:
Home Before Dark is set to follow “a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father left behind. While there, her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury.”

Here’s the trailer for the show…

This one was so cute at times…so sad at times.  It was a little cheesy now and then but overall, really good.

I gave you all some good shows to check out.

  1. My question, how do I make sure you are benefitting from the ads? Do I ex them out or do I have to open them?

  2. my question is one i have written about before. it also occurs on Pink Shoelaces. when i am typing a comment it goes off into oblivion and then i am nnot sure if it is legible to you. This also is occuring with messages you have written as well as on Pink Shoelaces so i have to furnish my own part of the comments as a large portion is missing. when i try to determine if it is just on the laptop screen and change numbers as well as checking on the desktop it is the same.

  3. Is The Mill set in the 1800’s or the 1900’s? The clothes look like the 1800’s. Love reading about your family and everything you are accomplishing, Keep at it. :-)

  4. Thanks for the tv show tips. I love British mysteries and historical fiction. The ones you named I have not seen. So glad to know of them.

Just finished watching The Mill. Late 1800’s I think. This was a terrible thing, the child labor. Like slavery but almost worse. And dangerous.

  6. The Mill is set in the 1830’s and is based on Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, England. Some of the filming was actually done there I believe. Quarry Bank Mill still exists and is now a museum run by the National Trust so is open to visitors.

    Hi Jo
I’m curious if you watch any floss tube while stitching. I am totally addicted. I’m almost done with my second project. It is crazy fun …right?
