If you read my blog post last week about the book I listened to, you won’t be surprised that I picked another by the same author, The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica. I’ve read all of her books except this one so I thought I would give it a try.
First off…Notice the book cover. It says coming to Netflix. I looked it up and there isn’t a lot of information about it yet. I’ll be watching for it though.
But, back to the book…
I loved it. I thought I knew exactly what was happening in the book. I thought I knew the twist. I was almost frustrated that she made the twist be so obvious…but then, I was so surprised! If you read the book and think you know the ending and want to quit. DON’T. I think you will be surprised too. The book was really good and I’ll definitely be watching for this to come to Netflix.
Here’s what Amazon had to say:
“Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to a coastal island in Maine when their neighbor Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie.
But it’s not just Morgan’s death that has Sadie on edge. And as the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened that dark and deadly night. But Sadie must be careful, for the more she discovers about Mrs. Baines, the more she begins to realize just how much she has to lose if the truth ever comes to light.”
Amazon readers gave the book 4.3 stars. I’m going to say 4.5 stars. I’ve been thinking of the book periodically after I read it and that always is a sign I enjoyed the book.
You can find the book HERE on Amazon.
You can read the reviews of the other books I’ve read by Mary Kubica HERE.
I haven’t read The Other Mrs., although its on my list, but I did listen to The Good Girl (also by Mary Kubica) on Libby which also had a twist at the end that I never saw coming. Thanks for sharing your book & TV recommendations. They do not disappoint.
I usually add your books to my need to read list. But I also want to tell you about a book I could hardly put down. The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. Good mystery!
Hi Carolyn. That book is actually on my holds list. I hope I love it like you did.
