What I’m Reading: The Kept Woman

I just finished up Karin Slaughter’s newest book The Kept Woman: A Novel (Will Trent).

I have read all of her books to date.  She is one of my favorite cop/detective writers so whenever she has a new book, I gravitate to it.  I was a little worried though.  The last book she wrote, Pretty Girls: A Novel, I wasn’t a big fan of.  It was way to graphic and gory for my liking.

Happily this book was part of her series of book about Will Trent.  I’ve loved all the Will Trent books.  If you’re new to the series and want to give it a try make sure to start with Triptych: A Novel (Will Trent series Book 1).

I had put this on my on line waiting list from the moment I saw it was available.  I had kept myself content listening to other books but I kept coming back and wondering how much longer I’d have to wait to listen to it.  Last week I saw that I was next on the list and I squealed.  I was really looking forward to the book.  That can be a little scary though….will the book live up to the expectation.  For me it did.

The series links some main characters, Will, Sarah and Angie…as well as others.  Much of this edition tells about Angie and explains her cold hearted personality.  It was needed because at some point the love life or Will and Sarah needs to find a way to move forward.

Amazon readers give the book 4.4 stars.  I’ll have to say I would rate is a little higher.  If you’ve read the series, I think you’ll like this one as well.  If you haven’t read the series, WHAT IS STOPPING YOU??
