I just finished up the audio book The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. I have just listened to Pretty Baby
by the same author and liked it. When I read the reviews of Pretty Baby most said The Good Girl was better so I thought I better listen to The Good Girl.
So did I like it better?I’ll have to say I agree with the reviewers…I did like this one better. This story was told by three different people…a mom, a detective and a criminal. I love when a story is told from three different perspectives because I can see somewhere in the middle of it all the reader can find the truth. I love how the mom’s story, in a way, parallels the daughter’s story.
Two good books from the same author has me thinking that whatever the author comes out with next, I’ll likely be reading.
Here’s what Amazon had to say, ““I’ve been following her for the past few days. I know where she buys her groceries, where she has her dry cleaning done, where she works. I don’t know the color of her eyes or what they look like when she’s scared. But I will.”
One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn’t show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia’s life.
When Colin decides to hide Mia in a secluded cabin in rural Minnesota instead of delivering her to his employers, Mia’s mother, Eve, and detective Gabe Hoffman will stop at nothing to find them. But no one could have predicted the emotional entanglements that eventually cause this family’s world to shatter.
An addictively suspenseful and tautly written thriller, The Good Girl is a propulsive debut that reveals how even in the perfect family, nothing is as it seems.”
Amazon readers say 4.2 stars. That very much surprised me as I would easily give it 4.6 stars. I really liked it and recommend it.
Hi Jo I really enjoy doing fairy gardens too. I love the pictures of yours. Especially the gazebo, so cute. I am trying to figure out how to post pictures. Thanks for all that you do for quilters and community, so glad that you are feeling better. Quilting and gardening, life is good.
