What I’m Reading: Presumed Innocent

I just finished up listening to the book Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow.  I was impressed with this author after I read the book Ordinary Heroes and wanted to search out more books by him.  Then I ended up putting this book, Presumed Innocent, on my holds list as it was listed as the first of a series.

If you like crime novels told in first person…you’ll likely like this.  I sure did.  If you’re an audio book listener I have to say I like the reader too.

Here’s what Amazon had to say about it, “The novel that launched Turow’s career as one of America’s pre-eminent thriller writers tells the story of Rusty Sabicch, chief deputy prosecutor in a large Midwestern city. With three weeks to go in his boss’ re-election campaign, a member of Rusty’s staff is found murdered; he is charged with finding the killer, until his boss loses and, incredibly, Rusty finds himself accused of the murder.”

There are MANY more books in the series.  That’s good news for me as I know I will be looking to read more and more of his books.  I have to admit to liking books that feature crime and who dun its.  I still like historical fiction best but throwing in a crime novel here and there is just fine with me!

Amazon readers say 4.1 stars…I am giving the audio version a little higher rating 4.4.  I do wonder if I was actually reading the book if it might have seemed a little slow..not bad but I did consider that.  By the way, I guessed, who dun it but enjoyed listening along to see if I was right.
