I saw that my on line library had another Walt Longmire audio book available and although it wasn’t the next one in the series, I grabbed it. Â If you aren’t familiar with Walt Longmire, he’s the creation of author Craig Johnson and I love the books….I love the Netflix series that is based on the books as well.
The audio book I finished up was Kindness Goes Unpunished: A Longmire Mystery.
I expected to really like the book and happily, I did. Â The character of Longmire is what I love to see in a sheriff. Â I love the tongue and cheek humor that is sprinkled in the book too. Â What’s new to this book, that isn’t yet in the series is that Vic, Longmire’s chief detective, and Longmire, enter new uncharted territories. Â You’ll have to read the book to learn more about their new venture.
Here’s what Amazon said about the book:“Walt Longmire has been Sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming, for almost a quarter of a century, but when he joins his good friend Henry Standing Bear on a trip to the City of Brotherly Love to see his daughter, Cady, he’s in for a shock. Walt hasn’t even put his boots up when Cady is viciously attacked and left near death on the steps of the Franklin Institute. He soon discovers that she has unwittingly become involved in a deadly political cover-up. Backed by Henry, Dog, Deputy Victoria Moretti, and the entire Moretti posse of Philadelphia police officers, Walt unpacks his saddlebag of tricks to mete out some Western-style justice.”
Amazon readers gave the book 4.6 stars. Â I’ll agree. Â I was fine with this book but prefer books set in Wyoming. I’ll be reading more and more of these books as they become available on my on line library.
I read the whole Longmire series earlier this summer and thoroughly enjoyed them. Waiting for the next one to come out. I bought DVDs of the first five seasons of the TV series and have watched one season so far. Like, you I enjoy the touches of dry humor.
Longmire is one of my favorite characters. One series my husband and I both enjoy, on screen and in print.
Jo, I see you talking a lot about your online library. Where is this library? And how does it work? I listen to a lot of audible books but I have to pay for all of them.
Another good read! Thanks for the review!
I love these books. Going to see Craig Johnson in September. Can’t wait!!
