Last week I finished three quilt tops and machine quilted one….so it was time to get sewing on something new.
These are the inside pieces of the star blocks from the quilt on the cover of American Patchwork and Quilting June 2010 issue.
My daughter Kelli and I cut out matching quilts back in June and finally, I am sewing the blocks together. Ā So far, I am loving them….I sew with lots of different fabrics but I can honestly say civil war reproductions are my FAVORITE. Ā I haven’t bought sashing fabric yet. Ā Once the blocks are finished, I think I am taking a road trip to Country Threads and purchase some…that would be a wonderful treat.
Check back later in the week and hopefully I’ll have a quilt or two or even three bound and ready to show.
Jo-I’m so envious of your trip to Country Threads! One of these days I’ll make a trip from CA to IA. Your blocks are GREAT! I’m with you, the reproductions are my favorite. Can’t wait to see the whole quilt done.
The blocks would look good jsut as they are! LOL That is a fantastic quilt and look forward to seeing the top.
Beautiful blocks. I loved that quilt when I first saw that magazine too.
What cute little blocks! I would bake a quilt out of only them!
Very cool blocks!
Love the blocks. I’m envious, Connecting Threads used to be very local for me. I loved going to their store, now I have to order. Not near as much fun.
I just love your blocks! Can’t wait to see your progress on the gorgeous quilt!
Shoot, I am thinking of pulling that magazine out again, I think those center parts of the block would make a cute quilt all on there own using Civil War fabrics…
How neat. I love when I get a chance to make one from my magazines!

So cute. Those little center sections would be a cute quilt just like that. I’m sure they will look even cuter in a finished block.
Your post spoke to me….so ME! As soon as I had spotted that cover quilt when my issue arrived I fell in love with it. Cannot wait to see your finished quilt. and will be envious it is yours!!
