I started a new “leaders and enders” project.  If you haven’t heard of leaders and enders, check out this link to Bonnie Hunter’s website.  It’s DEFINITELY worth your time.
Here’s the start of next leader and ender project….
It’s Hopscotch, Butterscotch from Bonnie’s book “Leaders and Enders”. Â I have all the four patches together. Â I need to get a day to prep the next step so the blocks can start coming together. Â I just love piecing two quilts at once….I love scrap quilts…the whole leader and ender process is a win-win for me. Â I have gotten to point I am addicted to it. Â It I don’t ALWAYS have something waiting in the machine to start the chain, I feel like I lost out.
This is not the first leader and ender quilt for me…..
You can check out Maverick Stars, Â Cotton Candy Squares (top is finished, not quilted), Crab Apples (all the nine patches and borders are finished….I hate paper piecing so this project is on wait), and Blue Ridge Beauty (all the blocks are finished…just need to be put together).
I need some SERIOUS sewing time (but that is at least a month away)….I’d love to get a bunch of projects just a little further along…but then, wouldn’t we all.

Lovely!!! I started sewing some blocks together last night and knew that I would need something else to slip in between each set while I pressed my seams and I pulled out my Split Decision pieces and used those. Very handy concept! :)

I just raided all my friends scrap bins and took all the blue’s and neutral fabrics to make a Blue Ridge Beauty, also in Bonnie Hunter’s book. It’s nice to see other quilts being made from the book.

Thanks for the info on Leaders and Enders. I’ve only used scraps that I throw away after filling with thread. Can’t wait to try ‘a project’ using this method.

I am doing small projects and finishing old ones, then after the holidays, I will do more serious quilting and make some large quilts.

Starting a leader-ender project is on my list but I haven’t prepped anything yet. This is a great quilt you’re beginning. I love Bonnie’s brain–she’s so generous with her designs and methods.

Can’t wait to see what you do with this pattern. I checked your other quilts made from Bonnie’s books, and they are great! Leaders and Enders make such a difference in productivity.
I think you are on to something. Bonnie Hunter’s leaders and enders technique is definitely addicting! I’ve been using it for a purple and yellow scrap quilt that’s been on my UFO list since 2006. It is fun to work on two quilts at once, especially if you are to a slow part in the other quilt, like sewing rows together or sewing on borders. I always think doing the blocks is the more exciting part of the quilt. I haven’t tried one of the projects from her book, but I might once I finish the purple/yellow project.

What a fun project! I have 3 leaders and enders on the go…I just jump around whenever I feel like it between the projects :)
