My “Note to Self” quilt from Patchwork Times is starting to take shape…
I am testing the pattern out using a jelly roll….so far, it’s working. Â If you are thinking of trying it, you need to choose a jelly roll and background fabric that allows you to use ALL the jelly roll strips. Â I am running into a little bit of trouble because I wanted black, a black check and yellow for the background fabrics. Â That makes it hard to use the jelly roll strips that have black and yellow in them…..SO, I decided to not use yellow for a background and instead use a white.
So far the blocks are fun and think it will come together nicely. Â It’s going to be “busy” but I think a “nice kind of busy”.
I ALWAYS get asked how do I get so many projects done……here’s one answer….sometimes I sew into the night….when I am tired…..and wake up to find this! Â I think I either need to quit before I am that tired or get some better lighting!!
Today is the day I pick the winner of the circles from my “Bubbly quilt”. Â The winner is….
Jean who said…..
What a great and fast quilt. Love your video, even think I could make one after watching the video. Love it.
Jo, love your Note to Self quilt made with the jelly roll. I too think it’s a nice kind of busy and that it’s going to be a gorgeous quilt.
Congratulations to Jane!
I have had those days, I tend to work past the tired point and usually it is backwards squares or triangles for me;)

Your blocks are really pretty! Makes me want to make this quilt. Maybe I’ll just set aside the fabrics and cut it into block kits to take to retreat.
Your blocks are sweet. I am always looking for jelly roll patterns since I have accumulated quite a collection of jelly rolls :)
That is such a great colorway for this quilt. I have been hoarding my Happy Campers jelly and charms for the Perfect project and that may be it!!
What a fun block!!
I have never worked with a jelly roll. Did you use more than one to do this quilt? I wonder how far a jelly roll will actually go.
glen: i guess i just need to jump in and buy one and see….
I have the same problem some mornings after I sew into the wee hours of the night (morning). lol
It should be a fun quilt with all the colors. I really hate using the seam ripper, so I try to shut myself down before I get too tired.
I wondered what it would look like with prints. Now I have an idea. It’s looking great!
Not a sleep induced error, tell everyone it is a creative design element.
I like seeing how this quilt is coming together. Very interesting.

Stopping by from Design Wall Monday…
Congrats to Jean! OOPS… probably a combo of the two. Interesting blocks, though.
Your Note to Self is coming along nicely. I really must give that one a try myself.
