Yesterday I spent the day not feeling the hottest. Â My tummy was just not up to being my normal active self so I slept in the morning and was feeling up to watching a movie by the afternoon. Â I have trouble just sitting still, so I grabbed a kitchen towel I have hoped to have embroidered and set to working on it.
I forgot how much I do love embroidery….this is the first of a days of the week set of dishtowels…Monday Wash Day. Â All the motifs have a Sunbonnet Sue girl and a little dog with her. Â I decided to do all redwork, keeping it very simple and avoiding having to make a decision (I am so bad at decision making).
Over the last week I finished up sewing a new project for Moda Bake Shop that will probably be featured sometime in July. Â I also finished my crumb quilt top and am working on piecing a back together for it. Â This week’s goal is to machine quilt and bind that quilt….

I love redwork; I started playing with it last summer when I was laid up for a while. It’s a wonderful pastime, and it’s so pretty. I am *wowed* by your crumb quilt top — what fun! Enjoy! :)
I hope you are feeling better! I love embroidery and need to get my box out. Thanks for the inspiration. I love using pretty dish towels.
Hope you are feeling better, your embroidery is wonderful and I can’t wait to see what your Moda Bake Shop project will be.
I love embroidery too…must get a project going.
What thread color will you quilt that spectular crumb quilt with? Hope you feel yourself real soon. Sandi
Your redwork is beautiful. I hope you are feeling better ;)
I would like to see the see the pattern of transfers for the sunbonnet Sue. Oh, it so reminds me of my very first embroidery. What does the Sunday look like?
Hope you’re feeling better.
I love Redwork and do a fair amount of embroidery myself. I know exactly what you mean about using one color floss and having no decisions to make. I used black on my last embroidery quilt top-its now basted and ready to be quilted.
Redwork embroidery was the first project I was given as a 7 year old – I’ve loved it ever since!
Emboridery is such a relaxing activity (and it’s portable). Looks like a fun set of towels. Hope you are feeling better.
Embroidery is so soothing–perfect for when moving around is not possible!
Jo that’s so funny, I just bought some red embriodery thread yesterday for Wall quilt with all sewing designs. I thought when my back is regaling hurting I can sit and sew red work. Really hope your up to par really quick.
Also read about your glass blowing up thank God your ok, and that would have scared me also, what a close call.
