In the mix of everything that is going on with me, I got an email from American Patchwork and Quilting. They were featuring some of their designers and wanted permission to feature my daughter, Kelli, and me. The plan was to add a designer spotlight page for us.
I said sure. I was okay with that…Kelli didn’t mind.
The funny thing is, I had been thinking about submitting my baby Train Track leftover quilt. It’s been a bit since I submitted anything, lost my email, and didn’t have an address to submit it to. So…as long as I was talking to someone from American Patchwork and Quilting, I sent a picture of the quilt and asked who to send submissions to nowadays.
I forgot about all of that after cancer flared up. Then I got an email from them telling me they had our designer page set up.

I also noticed that they have been featuring us on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
Kelli and I are so flattered and appreciate the attention.
Then, while I was in Iowa City getting radiation, they contacted me and want to feature my baby Train Track leftover quilt in an upcoming magazine. How fun!!
After hearing that, I got home and started scrolling through some of my old quilt designs that I never made. My wheels were turning, and I started to think about sewing a few of them up and how much fun that might be. Then I said something to Kelli, and we both got excited about sewing up a couple of our designs again.
Who knows if it will actually happen? All I know now is that we are completely flattered by the special attention American Patchwork and Quilting is sending our way.
This is much deserved attention for two wonderful quilters! I’m so pleased for you both. You are very talented and do beautiful but do-able designs that even new quilters can tackle and sew with pride.
I have subscribed to American Patchwork & Quilting for many years and often save patterns that I really love. I recently looked through some of the patterns that I have in a file and noticed that many of them are your designs. I wasn’t surprised as I like the quilts you feature on the blog and have been a fan for a long time. You deserve the attention and I’d love to see more of your designs in the magazine.

They publish a weekly email ‘Allpeoplequilt.com’ that features your quilts often. They list many free patterns and some patterns where you can buy. I usually recognize the quilts that you have submitted. Congratulations to the both of you.

I was always happy to see your & Kelly’s quilts in the magazine. I can’t think of any other designers that I consistently rip the pattern out and keep when I need to make room for the next issue. I hope you do submit more, and that they publish them.

I loved reading your AP&Q spotlight page and seeing the pictures of your quilts that were featured in their magazines. There are several I would still like to make.
